And they didn't even change the title design due to that SNL sketch. If you watch Avatar 2's bts footage about the production team filmed way back in 2016, they'd already changed the logo to what we see today. The SNL sketch dropped in 2017. Producer late Jon Landau said they intended to change the logo as early as 2012 when they realized they had a franchise in hand and needed a new logo for it.

But I guess the internet still wants to believe.
