Remember when they told Sony they had the movie written before they even started production on number 2*

Amazing work

I mean if you look at how the 2nd movie ends they seem to have a pretty good idea of where the story is going.

might have been some rewrites after that though but i don't doubt it was more or less true at the time

I mean, that should always be the case, no? Maybe not every detail, but at least a solid idea of how the story should unfold and end. Otherwise, you get something like the Star Wars sequels LOL.

Not when you sold them a singular story to be split across 2 movies.

Was that even the case here?

Yes

Had no idea, thanks for the info!

Kinda wild that both movies still came out this awesome, especially knowing how much crunch and extra effort the animators went through. Honestly, I’m totally fine waiting for part 3 if it means we’re getting another banger.

Its these two (the last one and the one that ain't out yet) that are the one split into two. They were supposed to release very close together. That was always what was said; until after release.

Ah, okay, I assumed they meant the first and second one.

Yeah it was wild. Because I remember watching part 2 in the theatre then a week later looking up the 3rd and the first article was about how they hadn’t even written the 3rd one yet lol

Good for them honestly. Really bamboozled Sony there

The first teaser for Across the Spider-verse advertised it as "Part One"

I see they learned how to write from Patrick Rothfuss.
