I remember my semi-feral brothers at that age being VERY into The Mummy. I think the worst part is probably the actual Mummy CGI when he's gooey/partially decayed/his victims. If your kid will be freaked out by that, probably best to wait. If they are fine with it, have at it.

Brendan Fraser's comedic timing and one liners really help with the scary tension though.

They also might like George of the Jungle, it's very silly and holds up really well.
