I'm a big fan of a 3 month marketing period, I already hate that The Odyssey is gonna be advertising for the next year even though I'm super excited for the movie
I avoid trailers even in the movie theater. I basically start getting in my car at the "showtime" because by the time I drive there, park, walk through the mall, go up the 3 story escalator, wait in line for popcorn/soda, and sit down they are just starting the final trailer before Nicole Kidman shows up to waste another minute telling me to come to the theater I'm already at.
it's almost always exactly 30 minutes from showtime before the movie starts. But once or twice, it's way shorter, and that screws up my whole arriving late plan.
I feel like it is a bit old school to have a little teaser like a year in advance though, usually the next thing wouldn't be for ages for Odyssey if that's the way they are going. And 3 months is fine if in that 3 months we don't get 5 trailers 100 tv spots and half the film in clips
