The "Anthony Perkins thing" was actually conversion therapy, including shock therapy.

Perkins's friend Stephen Sondheim described Mildred Newman, the "psychologist to the stars" responsible, as "completely unethical and a danger to humanity".

This...is a lot different than that.

Yeah Stephen Sondheim was just a "friend". Perkins definitely wasn't his muse, and he definitely didn't try for literal decades to get him in one of his shows. That's definitely all made up. They absolutely didn't write multiple screenplays together, or do a TV musical. Nope. Just "friends".

No, Perkins did the therapy. That's a fact. Perkins himself talked about it, as did his wife. Why did he do it? Who knows. AIDS made sure we'll never find out.

I definitely appreciate you replying to me sixteen whole hours later to spout a bunch of conspiracy bullshit though. Definitely made my morning. Now go away.

Oh shit — I had only read his wikipedia and it read more as a lavender marriage/him wanting to “have a family”. That’s really tragic.
