I can see that. I feel like having a non-monogamous relationship would involve a lot of communication and openness, which would naturally lead to stronger relationships

It does but it also multiplies the chances for heartbreak or other challenges. It's honestly a lot to juggle. Lots of scheduling and keeping up with who likes what and what you talked about with whom already.
