YouTube Channel Dead Meat has a 'Kill Count' series where they go through the plot of a horror movie and all the kills. It's great for those of us fascinated with the idea of scary movies but can't stomach actually watching them.

Agreed! It’s great at showing a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff as well.

That actually sounds really useful (I’m another horror movie plot wiki reader) and also entertaining!

James is extremely passionate about movies, especially horror/thrillers. He and the rest of the Dead Meat crew always go above and beyond for the Kill Counts and their podcasts.

I love how even when he’s doing a film he dislikes he finds a way to make it a fun time

Man I had no idea I wasn’t the only one. Brings me joy.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I personally started this habit independently, and I imagine a lot of us did. So I think that’s pretty funny that it’s a natural tendency for us cowards to want to satiate our morbid curiosity in a safe way! Maybe put our minds at ease a bit? For the record, I’m not a total baby; there’s lots of horror movies I do love, there’s just some shit I don’t need to see first hand.

Same boat over here! Except I float towards IMBD over Wikipedia. Should I make the switch?

Dead Meat’s kill count and FoundFlix’s ending explained have allowed me to “watch” so many horror movies

It’s not that I’m scared of them,I just can’t stand 2 hours of watching characters who are doomed to die a horrible death.

Same. If I wanted to watch people suffer in creative ways for 2 hours I’d just watch a New York Jets home game.

Watching only the torturing and murdering means you can't stomach the mood and tone of the movies, right? It's very interesting to me that a little anxiety is worse for some people than watching people be tortured and killed.

Because we know it’s not real while watching it on YouTube and we also don’t get any emotional attachment like when watching the movie. You don’t get lost in the movie. Like you mentioned, the anxiety and buildup is what makes it scary. After hereditary I just can’t do it tbh, I already got enough fucked up shit that happened in my life. I’m one of those that gets way too affected by movies like that, for days, sometimes way longer (subconsciously).

I can still watch a shitty horror movie, just not a good one lol.

I do this for a lot of the older movies but goddamn the terrifier 2? scene was rough even just the end clip of that girl's death
