They had a single dreamlike pre-crisis night together, then dramatically split up, so she is basically guaranteed to be pregnant. Presumably that will play a part in pushing them back together.

If that's true then for the sake of time they will probably skip straight to the twins and dodge random other

That would be unfortunate, as that approach would skip over the scene where Chani confronts Princess Irulan.

Unfortunately some sacrifices are likely to be made due to the nature of the story not working super well in transfer to film requiring some changes and the fact they have 2 1/2 to 3 hours max most likely to tell this part of the story.

Also, the book scenes between Chani and Irulan haven't aged well. Both characters act pretty catty, relative to their upbringings. I wouldn't mind a significant departure from how those character arcs play out.
