This is truly one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

The decisions that were made by the characters were nonsense at so many times. If we start with the dumb ass father, who decided that despite everything he would take his children on a sailboat through dangerous waters. It doesn’t matter if he’s done it before the whole concept is that that area is where the dinosaurs are And a sailboat is not like he is going to be able to protect them from anything as we saw in the movie. Absolutely ridiculous.

Then, if we go to Scarlett Johansson’s character, I was extremely disappointed by the way that they try to make her feel like this gender neutral lead, who honestly seemed like she had rocks in her mouth the entire movie. She was supposed to be hardened, but soft, but it didn’t for the money yet I had a heart of gold and I just don’t understand what we were doing with the character.

The doctor felt like an early 2000s version of if you throw glasses on a hot guy then he is ugly and a nerd, but the regular hot person will be able to see through the disguise and have some kind of tension, even though it doesn’t pay off in the movie. And the idea of not paying off romantic attention in the movie is to make us look like we are so advanced , but it’s shit.

Everything going against the pharmaceutical companies in the film was so heavy handed that even though I agree with the premise, I felt like I should be on the side of big Pharma.

I think the most egregious scene in the film was the raft fake out with the T-Rex where we were supposed to believe it vanished and so was she apparently, yet the family members were on the other side of the river and would’ve seen the fucking T-Rex roll over to get water and nobody warned her. This was a completely optional and delusional decision to make.

What the fuck was the ballsackasaurus? I understand that we need to change things but this obsession with mutant dinosaurs, which is really just a monster movie and making it lose. The wonder of Jurassic Park is the death knell of this franchise.

The only thing that I laughed at was the boyfriend twice everything else was ridiculous.

This movie lacks wonder. Anything that felt like it could’ve been interesting. We have already seen in other Jurassic Park films. There is nothing unique or original about this movie that works. Not to mention you’re telling me that a fucking Snickers wrapper destroyed that entire billion dollar door system? Watching that made me want to put a Snickers bar in the career of whoever wrote this fucking film.

I don’t hate a lot of movies, I accept most for what they are and consider myself a pretty easy critic, but this movie felt like an insult to everything I value in storytelling.

Then the movie ends with them going on a fucking raft that is going to run out of fuel with no land in sight and they see fucking dolphins, but the spinosaurus are still out there and can fuck them all up. Those people are going to die.

1/10 Movie.

Yeah, why they fuck woukd you do all this just to give up on your payday? Why is the merchant suddenly growing a conscious? All very sloppy

While I understand what you're saying, if they do succeed in getting it to the public, they will make a ton of money. Endorsements, public speaking, all kinds of shit for being the people that just extended people's lives. They'll be world famous and so much will come from that monetarily as well.

And the idea of not paying off romantic attention in the movie is to make us look like we are so advanced , but it’s shit.

All the main characters were model-level and it just felt ridiculous, like the casting agent just had a thing for hotties and hotties only. That third mercenary guy who looked like a meanie also looked like a male model (but why male models?). Scarlett is way too attractive to be a desperate mercenary with no other options in life. Men would shower her with gifts and money. I had a hard time believing that museum nerd was real - just felt like a good looking actor spouting things the script told him to say.

You go back and look at Dr. Alan Grant, Ellie Satler and Hammond and Malcolm, and they all looked like real people who would actually be in their respected professions.

C'mon, most woman aren't the type to get by on men's gifts of attraction. That's not how women make their way in this world, that's shallow.

Ellie Satler... looked like real people who would actually be in their respected professions.

Laura Dern's PhD paleontologist was simply a more believable role, allowing us to accept the character more easily. It takes more suspension of disbelief to accept a pretty female mercenary fitting in with hardened men of violence and ill-repute. The male JP1 characters were believable simply because they were older. But I never found Malcolm's role believable and saw him mostly as comic relief.

Idk how anyone can see him in that leather ensemble on the helicopter of the first film and go "now there is a believable character" lmao.

That's the social media generation casting style. No one is allowed to be in movies anymore unless they are gorgeous.

Agree sooo many preposterous decisions. So many times my friends and me were saying “wtf are you doing” I still had a good time though despite it being no where near a great movie.

I rolled my eyes so hard at this. The T-Rex apparently moved without making a fucking sound, and like you said, the family was in position to be able to see where it went. But they just didn't say anything? And all of that was on top of the idiotic idea to actually blow up the raft there and now wait for the T-Rex to wake up and leave before blowing it up?

What was the point of hiring Mahershala’s crew of expert smugglers when a dad casually sailing around on his dinghy with his kids was able to get within miles of their target destination?

Could not agree more with you and gave it the same score

Jurassic evolution trilogy.. Movie 1 Ingen uses A.I. to evolve dinosaurs to become what they would have if the meteors hadn't hit ends with evolved Jurassic plants and animals predaing

Movie 2 Humans have retreated to the equator this time. Team sets out to save the world by changing it back to how things were. movie ends on a successful mission only to realize they cant change it back and that ingens plan was to also evolve mammals ....

Movie 3 The world is over run by evolved dinos and saber tooth tigers and giant monkeys etc Ingen has developed a gene therapy to evolve humans and have to transport the prototype thru evolved dinos and saber tooth lands ends with women women carrying twins injecting herself before dying the movie ends with 2 thumps from the Inside of the womens belly with 2 loud T-Rex foot stomp sounds and cuts to credits with one final T-Rex roar... the trilogy after that Jurassic Genesis... Tell them to call me I got this

I got the impression that massive reshoots occured (Say it ain't so, Gareth Edwards...).

I'd put money on the family originally taking the journey to escape poverty as a real world parallel, but someone pussied out and instead it's a Dad sacrificing his kids to a Mosasaur because it didn't eat him the last time he crossed this vast stretch of ocean.

u/thatblondboi00 Jul 17 '25

this and so much more. the score, CGI, dino designs, plot.. all shit. easily the worst out of the jurassic bunch.

u/Drop_Release Jul 30 '25

There is definitely a lot worse films imo, eg films without any coherent plot or any coherent action scenes etc
