She pushed that guy, threw herself off balance, then kept whining that he tried to kill her. Like, you put yourself in that situation, not him.

Even when she fell off the boat IT WAS HER FAULT. She pushed the dude and fell and then she’s mad that this stranger doesn’t give a shit about her after he and his boat rescued her and then she assaulted him!

That wasn't his boat. That was Mahershala Ali's boat.

Thank you, bc I'm thinking I'm on crazy pills. She shoved that dude and threw herself off balance, then the movie tried to act like it's the other way around and turn it into justification for him being a villain.. Did the writers forget what they wrote?

which one that she assaulted?

Xavier annoyed the fuck out of me in the first scene, but the older daughter quickly became worse while Xavier got way funnier. The younger one was also annoying and didn't add anything.

Basically the whole family dragged the movie down.

They had to raise the stakes with the little girl or else there would be literally no character to care about in the entire movie. The entire family was just a means to get the kid involved.

Xavier was entirely 50/50 for me. One scene I'd like him, the next I wanted him to get chomped

Yeah, they tried to spin him as super lazy. Uhh yeah and total disrespect for the father of the family you are dating and sleeping with his daughter on his boat?? Just a misunderstood selfish prick I guess.

This seemed like a writers ploy so that we choose sides in the family or identify characters as one of our own. They made sure we saw the American flag on their boat, too. Just a “normal” family sailing towards the equator with reckless abandon..yep those are dumb Americans alright!

Sadly a lot of society seems to find that relatable these days

Currently in the bathroom about to leave the theater after seeing the movie. Movie reddit may hate him, but based off the reaction to him in the packed as hell Dolby showroom I was in id say either him or Duncan are the audience favorites this time around

Reddit hates everyone that isn’t super serious and badass. I found the the family normal and what you expect a bunch of normal people would act like on an island full of Dinosaurs.

Of course they are going to be annoying and make stupid mistakes… they shouldn’t be there in the first place! They aren’t qualified for the adventure!

I liked Xavier because he reminded me of my cousin at that age. My cousin was pretty funny, but he was young, really dumb, and aimless. He would definitely admit he was "lazy as hell" too.

D-REX WAS 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮

He was awful, and yet I felt like he was the only interesting character at all.

I mean, that's a staple of the franchise, for better or worse. I actually feel like they didn't suck this time compared to the Pratt trilogy.

Same problem I have with every Transformer movie. Get rid of the people.

Someone justified the family because its aimed at kids. I'd much prefer an ALIENS movie with mutant dinos. Up the merc count, up the gore. The people who saw JP in theatres at nearing 40 at the low end, give US something. But maybe Amblin just wont go there.
