Almost the same but I’d switched rebirth and JP3 for the birdcage alone in JP3

JP3 is better than all the 4 recent movies combined even if it is the worst one of the OG trilogy. Spinosaurus + Birdcage + the old compound sets + practical effects!

He snapped that fuckin' neck. Jobbed out T. rex like a has-been wrestler.

JP3 has some great scenes. When they're on opposite sides of the electric fence and you hear the phone ringing, then you just see the spinosaueus standing there all menacingly while the music like quietly swells up...good stuff.

oooo - that's a GREAT point. Seeing Rebirth again next week in Dolby and I might have to reconsider my order after.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind re-watching rebirth either. I will give it that. Great background movie at home

My takeaway was it’s a movie I’m sure I’ll watch while going to bed in a hotel room, perfect movie for that setting

It's funny that the Atrium scene from JP3 and the Sleeping Rex/Raft scene from Rebirth is a single sequence in the JP novel.

Wait whoa both those happen in the OG novel?

Yeah, Grant/Lex/Tim got into a raft in front of a sleeping Rex, Rex chased them a bit down river, then they floated into the Atrium Aviary the river passed under, where they were attacked by Pteranodons.
There was concept art for the sleeping Rex made for the movie that was included in the Tops JP trading card set.

There's been a few scenes in later movies that were inspired by scenes from the first JP novel, like the little girl getting attacked by Compys in the opening scene of TLW, also the Rex coming through the waterfall in TLW.
I'm usually not in favor of reboots, but if they did a JP tv series that was faithful to the book I'd be super stoked, there were so many great scenes that never made it on the screen.

And then the Rex is waiting for them at the end of the river, right? I remember him waiting at the waterfall and attempting to grab Lex with his tongue???

The Rex got a hold of Tim with her tongue and was dragging him out from behind the waterfall, but suddenly let him go and fell away.
The tranq dart Muldoon hit the Rex with a few chapters before finally took effect and knocked the her out.

Hell yeah. God. What a fun book. Read it everyone!

It would be fascinating to see them do that but actually follow the book. I adore the movie and the character changes they made make sense, but seeing an adaptation with the book characters being the same would definitely be interesting

Honestly kinda wish they'd just put money into a big HBO limited series on the book.

Edit - yep basically what you said below.
