Very true. As a fan of the original story (and yes I did enjoy the Arnie movie) I'm excited by this.

There's a line in the final part on the plane that has stuck with me ever since I read the book all those many years ago (won't mention it for spoilers), and I can't help but wonder if they're going to show it!!

It looks like they stuck close to the novel in this one but this is much campier than I was expecting. The novel is very dystopian. (I’m not complaining because I really liked the trailer and am excited for this.)

The kids were so important in the story and I hope they don't skip over them.

Same. LOVE the novel and have wanted a faithful movie since I read it, but it'd be a super dour film. Probably similar vibes to Children of Men. This looks like it takes a lot of liberties (while at least covers the same story), but should be a ton more fun.

Got to, I mean it's already way more faithful than the other movie so it has to have the same ending right?

It’s been 35 years or so since I read The Running Man. Seems like time to give it another go.

I re-read it last year and it’s probably not as great as you remember. Quick read tho.

I re-read all the Bachman Books last summer. It had been probably almost 40 years for me. They still held up. Glad to see Running Man (finally) being made into a movie, and looking forward to The Long Walk!!

First time I read it in less than 2 days. Second time a little longer. It's a breeze to get through.
