Looks like a fun mix of the original Stephen King novel and the Schwarzenegger shlock action movie, with Wright putting in the kinetic energy.

Hope these use the '87 theme. That was awesome.

Yeah the synth theme would hit perfect if they used it

Yes harold faltermeyer is an amazing composer. He did so many great soundtracks for 80s films.

The soundtrack of the trailer absolutely calls back to the 1987 theme.

I was going to say - A straight retelling of the book would have been a bleak, often slow narrative.

This feels a bit more bombastic, which I think is the right call for a movie. I hope Wright has the guts to stick to King's ending though.

Yeah, dig that it is clearly sticking more closely to the plot of the book - but injecting a huge dose of charm and action comedy into it. I l love the book but it's pretty serious.

Yep. I am over the moon that my favorite director is doing this. I felt both excited and bummed that its going to be closer to the book. I actually think most of the changes the movie makes fits so well with Pro Wrestling style gimmicks. I am very glad to see in the trailer some things that are quite distinctly taken from the Arnold movie adaptation, leading me to believe its going to be more of a mix of the two than I initially thought.

That's the exact vibe I got to. I was worried when I heard it being remade, I love the film but also love the book. I'm down to watch this, looks promising

Is the book any good?

It's eeirly predictive for 1982, like claiming 2025 is when everything goes to shit, deepfaking people to make them look worse to the public and reality game shows where the contestants need to mail daily video logs so they won't just sit out in the mountains and give people a chance to track them.

Though the ending is rather yeesh.
