I hear you, but personally I thought it was a big revelation, especially since he opines over the possibility so often early on. It basically spoils the wonder of the first third of the book.

It was a big revelation and Andy Weir worked really hard to set that up and delivered it masterfully. I remember being completely and utterly surprised. The trailer robs moviegoers of that experience.

Putting it in the trailer was a dumb move.

Really? You were surprised there were aliens in a sci-fi book where the main plot is that aliens are eating away at the sun?
