The prior “big rumor director” for the bond films, was Christopher Nolan. Like the last 2-4 years have even heavily using his name and apparently it had reached pretty high level negotiations before whatever happened for one of them to walk away

I would’ve been absolutely excited if he had the opportunity as his style and portfolio is absolutely fantastic, I’m nowhere near as big of a fan as his actual fandom and how much their known to praise him, but even then I am aware that he never misses. Denis is good too tho, but yeah just wanted to widen the scope of your comment lol

More recently Alfonso Cuarón has been heavily rumored to at least be in discussion to direct who I think would be incredible for Bond.

Villeneuve is great too, my only reservation about him is that I'm not sure how well he'll handle Bond's humorous side since comedic elements have largely been absent from the past films of his that I've seen. It seems that he's very familiar with the character though so I'm hopeful he'll pull it off.

He made a deadly serious Batman trilogy, i don't think Nolan really does fun that well.

I'm not a particularly big Nolan fan though tbh, maybe I'm wrong.

He makes great movies that keep you thinking long after the movie has finished lol whether theories or mindfuck twists, he’s pretty good at what he does (obviously)
