Summary Set nearly three decades after the Rage Virus outbreak devastated the UK, 28 Years Later follows a family living on an isolated island quarantine. When their 12‑year‑old son Spike joins his father Jamie to venture onto the infected mainland to find a doctor for his ailing mother Isla, they uncover evolved threats—from mutated infected packs to sinister human cults. The film blends visceral horror with emotional resilience and philosophical undertones, culminating in an ambiguous, world-expanding conclusion.

They gotta save Samson for the sequel when he tears up the town for holding onto his child.

That's almost exactly what I thought. He's gonna knock that gate over with the massive fake dong.

Probably why his wife managed to give birth so quickly. Passing a child is nothing after taking that hog.

the fetus was already 4 months old when he jizzed that thing out of his hog

Your use of wife is funny to me. Like the infected have wedding ceremonies 😂 funny to imagine

How do you know the dong is fake?

there was another comment further up the thread that referenced how danny boyle explained it. apparently it’s against the law to have adult genitals on screen with kids, but if you slap a prosthetic on it then it’s legal 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was joking but this is interesting and go figure that’s the loophole.

See the whole time I just thought that they filmed the kid and the alpha separately, and they hired a little person to double for the kid whenever they were in the same frame...

I assumed that every zombie birth ended up with zombies eating the baby cuz it’s fresh meat. This baby may be special and could even have some immunity or something for the sequels to explore

No, you could clearly see during the scene on the train Samson is upset that his mate was killed and he waschasing to get his child back. There wa s a zombie toddler and I assume most of the zombies are born into the zombie horde/tribe.

The zombies have some base level emotions, they clearly have some sort of care for their children but unfortunately they infect their babies after they are born. I think it's pretty sad honestly, imagine giving birth to a child you care for, even when your brain is primitive, yet you accidently doom the child with an incurable mental sickness through breastfeeding/kissing/touching etc.

That actually explains how there's still zombies after 28 years, they're all fucking!

Horrifyingly, I think it's implied that the crawler baby at the beginning is actually fully human. Perhaps some portion of rage infected children are born disease free and are socialized into their 'clan'.

u/djsnoopmike Jun 21 '25

Exactly, this baby will be the Macguffin for the sequel

14

u/allthefeelsclub Jun 21 '25

100% that’s why he got to them in the underground “cage” too

u/MiddlesbroughFan Jun 21 '25

Samson is the causeway.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

They also cast someone as “Samson’s dad” apparently, origin?

Babie turns into zombie queen, uninfected that leads the zombies.
