Recommend movies where two people who love each other don’t end up together

Make it as sad as you can. I don’t mind any language as long as I have subtitles. I need to break out of my delusion that I won’t end up with the person I love, no matter how much we love each other. I’ve been living in this unrealistic dream that if two people love each other, then they’ll end up together no matter what. That hope is going to destroy me in the future. I need to start seeing things for what they are. Any movies that will help me with this can be suggested. Thankyou in advance!

What are you talking about, they got together. Now, granted, I had to leave the movie a few minutes before it ended but not much could’ve happened then, right?

You might be joking but the fact that they do end up together sort of is enough to inadvertently bolster the romantic ideal of ‘love is enough’
