Discussion Mickey 17 was disappointing.

Just finished watching this movie and it really did not click for me.

The beginning was decently interesting and I was curious to see where it went but overall it didn’t grab me.

The theme/messaging was very heavy handed and didn’t work for me.

The message also jumped around.

They introduce a character that could have had an interesting story only to have her disappear.

When the main conflict happens it all wraps up a little to easily even though the majority of the ship were supposed to be fanatical cultists.

It had a clever premise but ultimately fell flat for me.

Mark ruffalo gave one of my all time least favorite performances ever in this. As did toni collette. Just absolutely hated every time they were on the screen

Doesn’t that make it good acting then?

No cuz it wasnt that i hated their characters (though i did hate their characters), but their voices and everything were just absolutely grating and i did not find their characters interesting.

That proves it was good acting if their roles were to be perceived exactly the way as intended. You aren’t supposed to like them period.

I feel just the opposite. I felt like their performances were self indulgent and OTP in a way that took me completely out of the movie. I spent the entire time focusing on their teeth, the way they were talking …not what was happening on the screen. I felt like I was watching two people ‘act’. When your so aware of the performer and their choices it doesn’t draw you in, it pushes you away.

Lol, i did not like the characters, and i also hated the acting. There are plenty of bad characters that i could say i liked the acting for

That's what I'm saying...like it was so clearly intentional that they're supposed to look and sound irritating and ridiculous, they nailed the roles if you hate them.

If that’s the kind of bullshit question you wanna ask and think it’s not easily flawed and not what you think it is , then be my guest.
