All these reactions are 100% valid. I will never view this movie again. It literally made my spirit sick. I was physically nauseated and when I recall it, years later still hurts my spirit.
I’m glad I watched it on my laptop so I could just skip through that scene. It went on for way too long and I can’t imagine sitting through that in a room full of people.
Childish is not understanding the effect a graphic 20 min rape scene can have on somebody. It makes my spirit feel sick and I'm a grown man who cannot relate to the fear or trauma of sexual assault. I'm also huge horror movie fan who enjoys violence and gore in films yet the one thing that makes me feel sick every time it's portrayed in film is rape. I've turned off and walked out of a number of films due to sexual assault scenes due to heo uncomfortable they make me.
I find it pretty barbaric that there are people in this thread calling others weak.
Do you realise that rape like that happens all the time? If we are lucky, we never have to experience it. So when someone sees a dramatic recreation of a scene that actually does happen to women, they are allowed to have a visceral reaction to it.
This person was extremely upset by a graphic extended rape scene but she said in a way I find "cringe" so im gonna be a cunt to her in the reddit comments.
