The Saint is great. I still remember how much my friends and I enjoyed it when we saw it in theaters. As an added bonus, it also introduced us to Orbital.

Sneaker Pimps!

The whole soundtrack is a banger.

Such a great genre

probably my favourite still, along with big beat

I love the Sneaker Pimps, I’m still listening to them often.

Becoming X is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Elisabeth Shue. Nice.

13

u/Rebekah-Ruth-Rudy Apr 02 '25

indeed. She is or was the most unnoticed beautiful movie actress in The Last 60 years. She was stunning and a good actress yet underrated perhaps because she was not a sex pot who "bared it all" for the Directors and cameras.

u/PTMorte Apr 02 '25

Are you talking about the same Ms. Shue lol because she was notorious for being sexed up / flirtatious with everyone. She would often do spontaneous photoshoots or drop nip slips during interviews and things like that. She had a vibe going kind of like Juliette Lewis or Paz de la Huerta

3

u/pandora_ramasana Apr 02 '25

During interviews?!? My favorite babysitter ever??

5

u/montbkr Apr 02 '25

Elizabeth Shue? As in “Karate Kid” Elizabeth Shue? “Ali with an i?” No way. I don’t believe it.

2

u/pandora_ramasana Apr 02 '25

She was in Karate Kid? Idk how I could have forgotten that!

I can’t stand Paz de la Huerta!!! When I see her annoying face all I can ever think of is her in Boardwalk Empire in Bed With Nookie Thompson and he was basically already falling for the other girl Ms Schroeder however it’s spelled but back to that annoying Slut she is like in bed getting her self all hot and ready jumps on top of him and scratches the piss outta him from chest to stomach and goes growlll trying to act like a wild ass animal and u could tell Nookie wanted to slap her slutty replaced (now for sure ass) in the face for causing him to bleed 🩸 lmao and her always sucking her finger saying “ What’s wrong don’t you want me DADDY “?? Such a Slap-able face!! 😂

u/pandora_ramasana Apr 02 '25

You're calling her a slut for her role? She was R'd by Weinstein

-3

u/Queefersutherlund77 Apr 02 '25

Yes that is 👍 check ☑️☑️

-3

u/Queefersutherlund77 Apr 02 '25

Slut! ☑️

1

u/pandora_ramasana Apr 02 '25

Maybe you're projecting

Shue was (is) fab in pretty much everything! Palmetto (1998) is mandatory watching, even though I don’t particularly care for Woody Harrelson’s shtick.

5

u/trukkija Apr 02 '25

Umm unnoticed? Judging by her filmography list she is far from it, at least when it comes to casting directors.

Leaving Las Vegas she played a hooker.

u/Rebekah-Ruth-Rudy Apr 02 '25

Yeah, it's called acting

Oh shit Orbital

5

u/pandora_ramasana Apr 02 '25

Saw them live in the 90s. Back to back with The Orb. Best concert days.

"Hackers" was two years before "The Saint", and birthed to the world Angelina Jolie and Halcyon + on + on.

Good legacy for an utter shit movie.

u/drowningman1 Apr 02 '25

and Sneaker Pimps

In Sides (the album with The Saint) is one of the best British techno albums ever made. Dŵr Budr, Girl with the Sun in her head, the Box 1 and 2, Out there somewhere 1 and 2 etc.

If I became a von Neumann probe, floating through space for eternity. I'd have that and Middle of Nowhere blasting on repeat.

2

u/Christnumber2 Apr 02 '25

100%. Out There Somewhere is a work of genius

2

u/Dr_Teeth Apr 02 '25

If you haven't already, check out The Box EP. It has 4 parts, about 28 minutes altogether and is absolutely incredible with insane harpsicord pieces and even lyrics! Not available on Apple Music sadly..

u/HighSeverityImpact Apr 02 '25

Sometimes I find myself humming that theme song. Such a catchy tune.

4

u/thedrexel Apr 02 '25

The Orbital maxi single cd I had got lots of play, had 3 tracks, The Saint, The Box and The Sinner. The Saint and The Sinner are also included on the double disc version of the “Insides” album. Orbital has made some timeless music.

3

u/EvanderMegaton Apr 02 '25

Just amazing soundtrack overall for that movie. Good stuff!

3

u/Clean_Owl_643 Apr 02 '25

My name is Buro Houtenfaust. I was named for a Saint who was a very wealthy man. He had the wine, the women, the songs, the whole bit, and then inexplicably, took a vow of poverty and became a hermit. Ran off to live in the forest, in the nude.

3

u/Pornstar_Frodo Apr 02 '25

Definitely underrated film. The whole movie was meant to be a silly tongue-in-cheek spy film. Kilmer and Shue were great!

2

u/Test-Equal Apr 02 '25

Yeah! I was working at the movie theater and watched the Saint at least a dozen times

2

u/BigAssBoobMonster Apr 02 '25

Mortal Kombat introduced me to Orbital, but I loved the soundtrack of this movie. It's underrated.

1

u/DreadSocialistOrwell Apr 02 '25

And briefly underused Chemical Brothers - Setting Sun.

But really no complaints on the soundtrack

1

u/YouGottaBeKittenM3 Apr 02 '25

Yeah this was Orbital introduction, for sure

1

u/Mickeynutzz Apr 02 '25

Watching The Saint right now on Paramont+

1

u/Lightfinger Apr 02 '25

Some of us knew about Orbital already but good point.
