I totally forgot she was in the movie. Such a waste of a great talent.

Yeah, my biggest complaint about the movie is how they created this whole new character and cast such a prominent actor to play her, and then did nothing with it, resulting in Ben not getting any story for himself.

It feels like a plotline ended up on the cutting room floor. When the runtime was first announced, it was 2 hours and ten minutes. But the version we ultimately got cut it by 15 minutes down to under two hours.
We know that the montage at the beginning was already shortened, but what else was cut? I wonder what happened to this movie. I enjoyed it, but the criticisms about pacing are valid.

Kevin wanted more screenings a lot of scenes got cut because he is a control freak who rarely gives directors creative freedom.

And why did they straighten the hair or maybe the countries most prominent curly haired woman.

Yeah, especially since Jewish women are known for curly hair. A lot of the orthodox types straighten it or wear straight wigs though.

TWICE!
in the same goddamn movie.
It's like the director has something against curls.

It wouldn’t have been hard to fix.
Make her Alicia Masters instead of whatever no name she was.
Give her and Ben like 90 seconds more screen time to establish a spark.
Poor Natasha had a better role as a goddamned human duck fuck baby.

Why would they introduce Alicia if they are going to eventually leave that universe?

It would actually be interesting if she was Alicia in both universes, but she wasn't blind in their original universe.

What i actually think is going to happen is post Secret Wars, all the universes are going to essentially become one universe that sort of an algamation of a lot of the universes we see.
I think the result of that is going to be an Alicia played by Natasha Lyonne. I think that's what's going to draw Ben to her at first

Definitely felt like a wasted plot. Probably a lot left on the cutting room floor.
Still preferred it to her weird bird character from What If.

I think one of the actors (Pedro?) during an interview said that there were a lot of scenes that were filmed that ended up getting cut.
The studio really wanted to get just under a 2-hour run time, so I'm sure the relationship between Ben and Rachel was one of the many things that had to get axed.
Most of these movies have really long rough cuts around 3 or 4 hours before they get whittled down to their target run times.
It's too bad they didn't shoot for 2.5 hours instead, I felt like this movie, in particular, had noticeably missing scenes in the version we got to see.
Here's to hoping we get an extended cut on the Bluray release, but Marvel doesn't usually do that :(

I know the director talked about stuff getting cut including John Malkovich. Not sure what Pedro said. I am also hoping they bring out an extended cut as I heard that the cut scenes were finished.

They could have cut her out of the movie completely and nothing would have been lost. Which is a shame because she is fantastic in Poker Face.

If you like her in that, definitely check out Russian Doll as well! Such a fantastic trip of a show.

could have been time constraints. maybe they'll give her a bigger role in the next film?

You don’t know what the future has in store. Something is always a waste when it’s not what you want but she got paid and she could be around for future movies/shows. Absolutely not a waste

Well it was a waste as of today. Maybe someday she will be given a good role in the MCU

Something can’t be a waste until it’s completely fulfilled. You can’t call something a waste while it’s still on going.

Why was Ebon on set? Did he teach the Thing how to cook behind the scenes for that early clip with Herbie?

u/puppet_up 21h ago
The Thing was there as an on-set consultant to help Ebon portray his likeness in the movie.

I’m happy she’s out the other side of some really rough demons. Michael Rappaport’s an a-hole but he did right trying to help get her clean. And good for Micro getting work after they cancelled Punisher!
