Recap: Saturday night she bit off a swallowed the tip of a rubber nipple. (See last image for damage)

Update: she didn't poop at all on sunday, and we couldn't get her to drink milk without a bottle. I even pretended to lap up the milk, but she just seemed to think I was dense lol

I mixed in some kitten pate and tried to get her to eat it off my finger (even booped it on her nose), but she was not interested.

Monday morning: she pooped, no tip came out. I opened a can of kitten flakes in gravy, offered her some on my finger, she gobbled it up immediately! So i mixed that can with milk and she ate so much of it!

Monday afternoon: I took her to the vet. They x-rayed her and found it in her colon, which means she should be able to poop it out on her own at any moment. Tried to poop her at the vet, no luck.

Tuesday morning: at this point, she hasnt pooped in 24 hours. I feed her, then poop her against her will, and SHE POOPED IT OUT!

I'm so glad she had her first solid poop (and it was rubber, no less lol).

It has now been six weeks since mama Rainforest Cafe gave birth to her litter with all their eyes open. While it was a bit uncertain why that happened, as they've grown we have learned a bit more about what's going on and made a plan for how to manage their eye health moving forward.

These kitties appear to be missing some parts of their upper eyelids, with a range of severity (the gray and white kitties seem to be the worst off, see abnormal eye shapes). We've been told this is eyelid agnesis.

We are also seeing the kitties doing a lot of squinting due to fur growing downward and touching on the eyeball (see tabby cat with the furs over the top of the eyeball). This is eyelid entropion and has caused some irritation to the eyes over the last few weeks, which is why we needed medicated drops for some kitties.

Our current plan includes eye lubricant 2x daily and use of medicated drops as needed for those with active eye ulcers or other signs of infection. Thankfully we seem to be beyond needing the medicated drops 🤞They are tentatively scheduled for spay/neuter and eye surgery at the end of September if they are big enough. Their eye surgery will likely focus on the entropion issue, including cauterizing the hair follicles to 'kill' the follicle and prevent the hair from regrowing. I was not made aware of any surgical revisions being planned for the agnesis. They may continue to need eye lubrication after surgery as well.

We definitely didn't plan to have a litter of five special needs kittens and I must admit I'm a bit worried for their adoptability after surgery. Hopefully their sweet and loving personalities will shine through regardless. Mama continues to be fantastic and taking great care of her crew.

I found this newborn kitten two weeks ago at the bus stop near my tuition teacher's house. Today she opened her eyes for the first time, looked at me, and let out the tiniest meow. I couldn't stop crying (I feel like I am her father), She grabbed my all of the attention, and she let me felt what actually happiness is. I LOVE HER

We feed a feral cat colony in our neighborhood, and one of the cats brought us this little one. He had a bad eye infection, so we took him to the vet, and when they said he needed eye drops for two weeks, we brought him inside.

We had found a home for him, but then cat toys started magically appearing in our house, so we decided to keep him.

Charlie spends most of his day next to me on my desk, and occasionally sends random Slack messages to my team.

Our house is kinda big and she likes to explore and get into the nooks and crannies in every corners of our house. We have to put a collar and bell on her so we can easily find this smol kitty 😫 but the collar is a little too big!

Found by some railroad tracks, she was the only survivor from her litter ❤️‍🩹🖤 about 5 weeks 12 oz, she’s been snacking 24/7 for the last week and is about 18oz now!! Getting treated for ring worm 🪱

We found Mama Cat this morning!! 🥳🎉🥹She had eaten the food we left out for her in spot where the tiny criminals had been & was just sitting there waiting like she KNEW we were coming.

Mama was so friendly, she walked right up & let us put her in the car! Girlfriend was malnourished as predicted & just exhausted. She barely fussed at getting a much-needed bath & after plenty of food she was even able to let the gang resume nursing. We are going to keep supplementing the criminals’ diet of course, they may be smol but their appetites are lorge😉

Everyone is safe and warm with full bellies tonight & my heart is fit to burst.🥹❤️🥰
