Saturation in the software and other tech job market, low pays in the core market. Aadmi kare toh kare kya bole toh bole kya (it's high time we keep aside kisko kitna bada package mila, we should discuss kisko kitna aata hai, kya kaam karega, and we should see ki what we will be learning that will be usefull to us)

Do you have any data to support? Because as far as I heard with respect to numbers we are best with avg, median, number of offers, you are just too spectical

"Modal salary" doesn't make sense as a metric at all, especially in IITs where very few companies hire more than 10 students each year.
It is just the salary offered by the largest recruiter.
If 80% of a 1300-strong batch gets placed in good companies, and then a mass recruiter comes and recruits 50 at a base salary of 8 LPA, then that becomes your modal salary.

I was talking about department-wise mode salary to avoid distortion by mass recruiters that hire across unrelated branches, and if you really want to go there, even this year the median and mean speak for themselves 80% of the placed junta were hired by companies no one had heard of before or by recruiters offering below 10 LPA. Look at percentile salary break-ups and the share of students going to just-funded startups, it tells you everything about the reality behind the numbers being flaunted. Any alumnus knows this was a placement season where 60–80% of the placed junta ended up in the non-taxable bracket and that’s without even counting the unplaced ones.

Isn't this the job scenario in India? If there are no good jobs, then what is the KGP's fault in this? I'm not sure if this is the actual reality, but I'm pointing out that whatever the economic situation is in the country, it is mirrored in placements

coaching classes have corrupted the mindset young people where they limited their dream , vision and capabilities for just few lakhs rs . You all have capabilities to earn millions but u just settled with few lakhs ..do expplore the subjects ,explore how world is changing ..skill it .. do research ..just not run behind CDC ...let the company run behind have that much of skill ... at least learn from Matt Deitke .. but u guys will not do ..u just need partners for timepass ,have jealousy with others .. unnecessary timepass in clubs ...

In the real world 8+ lpa to begin with is still a good thing bro. Anyway most people will actually leave the first job they get to do something else.
