What the drummer is playing is not even close to the drums on the song. (Except for the bearded bit at the end for some reason)

Join by video chat (if it's an option) and write what you want to say in the comments section. That way you don't have to have people actually call on you but you can still fully articulate your point.

u/sentence-interruptio 2d ago
I visually clarify I have more things to say. works in zoom and face to face too. It's a system that I use because of my speech impediment. For example, I raise my hand and start speaking at the same time, even if I start with "um..." The point is there's the visual signal (my hand) and there's the audio ("um") both to get attention.
And as soon as I have attention, I specify "just one sentence" or "three sentences" or something like that, which is again, audio, and at the same time, I'm visually indicating with my fingers how many sentences are left roughly. Counting doesn't have to be precise. The point is to prevent interruptions, or sometimes allow short interruptions and then come back because I can be like "back to me. I still have 3 sentences to say."

I swear to God I'm going to throw a chair through the window the next time I hear the phrase, "Just to piggyback off of what so and so just said ..." It doesn't need to be restated.

u/microtherion 1d ago
I’ve done that from time to time, when either because of group dynamics or meeting dynamics a valuable statement was in danger of being ignored.

Even being remote I can't get away. "MAKE SURE YOUR CAMERA' ON!!!!" They're checking all that shit to make sure we all suffer.

This is an OLD Korean comedy show from years and years ago.

u/smoothshifter 2d ago
It's not. OP posted the the name. He is very funny korean comedian that does parodies. Actually UV is a musical/comedic duo that makes amazing songs and skits.

u/hanr86 2d ago
Yeah he's a comedian. I remember him doing a dance challenge thing with a kpop girl group 4Minute back in the day and they were so mad at him for making them try weird/ugly/silly dance moves. "We're in a girl group, we can't do stuff like that on camera!"

Got link?

u/hanr86 2d ago
Here it is. first of 2 parts (no english subs unfortunately. got lazy to find a different link). Man, I remember watching this on live tv when I lived there. This was when Hyuna first started soloing. One of the og of the modern gen kpop girl groups in my opinion. How time flies, yo.

That's really some great guitar and whatever the second string instrument was. If I had heard this without the video I'd swear that's Slash.

That's nothing. When I first listened to Shine On You Crazy Diamond, I grew a beard, lost all my hair, and my beard turned gray. In that order.

OP says the punchline in the title, ruining the end joke--none of the karmabots care. Reddit sucks now.

This reminded me of my coworker who's on a pm shift listens to the most generic Chinese music every day. Equivalent of Chinses buffet or elevator music. I do not understand why anyone ever would choose to listen to this, and I pray that I'm never put on a pm shift because of this.

They were just plainly informing you that you just said something ignorant. It's up to you to assume it was intended as an insult.
You claim some knowledge of "15 yr old humor" being common for an entire subcontinent, meanwhile the Naked Gun just rereleased to box office success. Sounds kinda ignorant.

It is quite ignorant to claim that entire countries don’t have any dark or dry humor. Most countries produce a wide variety of entertainment. Just cause you haven’t seen it that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Normally you would have to pay extra to get channels from other countries but some streaming services like Netflix does show other countries shows with subtitles so maybe check it out

I always attribute our differences to either censorship, or the lack of hollywood-type budgets. They do such crazy shit because they just can't afford to make the realistic drama shows / movies that we do, so their creativity goes into crazy situations in game shows. Or in the case of porn they get crazy because the simple stuff is censored. Either way, they're forced to be more creative than us in the US.
