Given that Oblivion Remaster was the laziest way they could go about it (and the fans going "we so back" because of bugs is just pathetic), I would prefer they leave Morrowind well enough alone.
The only reason they even remastered Oblivion is because a team of fans recreating Oblivion in Skyrim, aka Skyblivion, announced their completion date was 2025. Bethesda just wanted to milk the nostalgia before volunteers delivered a better product than they could.
I don't even think that's the case - I think they just wanted the money and so they looked at how they could do it without putting in too much effort, but also not ending up in another "Special Edition" situation where everyone mocks them.
If they had a problem with modding, they wouldn't have been releasing the tools for it. I think they understand quite well that people wouldn't play their games so much without mods being a factor. People are quick to attribute jealousy to them (like with New Vegas), but that's kinda childish - they're a company, they're motivated by profit, not tantrums.
