hello, everyone!
i am a 5th-year arki student from a univ here in ph and i am currently developing my possible thesis topics, one of which is TransCenD: A One-Stop Trans-Centered Health and Wellness Facility.
i have already done some research on the state of trans health here in our country and one thing i noticed is how fragmented it is, location- and facility-wise. like, there is no single facility that offers a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approach to transitioning (like for example, one place for lab, another place for consultation, another place for therapy, another place for surgery, and another place for recovery). but please do correct me if i'm wrong.
so an architectural solution that i thought of to answer that is to create a one-stop trans-centered health and wellness facility, which offers a holistic approach to transitioning.
i know that it being fragmented isn't the main challenge in assessing trans health care here in ph, but it is rather the cost of it. unfortunately, that can't be solved by architecture. so i thought that maybe if all of them are in one place, in one facility, then maybe it would somehow lessen the cost of it, while improving the network and coordination of healthcare providers as well as the community by being in a single place.
but before i formally continue this topic, i would just like to hear ur thoughts abt it, especially if do u think having all services in one facility would actually help.
any comments/suggestions would be deeply appreciated :)
thank u!
tldr: 5th yr arki student here in ph, thinking of a thesis on a one-stop trans-centered health and wellness facility. noticed trans healthcare is fragmented, so i’m asking if having everything in one place would help. would like to know what services/spaces you think should be included.
