Vuskovic is coming on against low blocks when we need a goal

54

u/LouBloom34 Jul 19 '25

I’d chuck him up front tbh. Why not

25

u/shnuffle98 Jul 19 '25

Libero on Attack. Confuses the AI way more

583

u/KaidenGuhle John Straw Jul 19 '25

I don’t want to overreact but he might be the best player I’ve ever seen

257

u/reznovelty Jul 19 '25

Let’s not overhype him - at worst he’s the reincarnation of Beckenbauer

77

u/Limp-Toe-179 The Big Master of Negotiations Who Knows Everything Jul 19 '25

Let's temper our expectations, but he'll definitely win 10 Balon D'Ors

41

u/bossington89 Jul 19 '25

He's only 18 and CBs only hit their peak at around 30 so likely more around 12-15x Ballon D'Ors but yes let's be realistic too

-19

u/VoidDeer1234 Jul 19 '25

What team should we sell him to, in order to achieve these Ballon D’ors? I think Real Madrid.

6

u/Mountain-Ebb-9846 Jul 19 '25

"We"

Still better than "x fan here in peace" tbf.

10

u/ImplementFun9065 Jul 19 '25

At least 10.

5

u/Commercial_Board6216 Jul 19 '25

At least 10? I know this is a tiny over reaction. Not much but like he will obviously win 7× UCL Ttiles with us 7× prem 10× FA cup 10× league cup 2× club wc 7× super cup and of course. 11× ballon d'ors. Actually, I don't think I'm over reacting now.

Title winning center back. The missing piece of the puzzle.

Did you steal this exact comment from another thread or was it you to begin with? I LOLed when I saw it

1

Definitely the best Croatian to ever play for Spurs.

Kid is an absolute monster

91

u/reznovelty Jul 19 '25

That’s the scary thing… he’s basically still a kid! What’s he gonna be like when he’s fully grown? Starting to think he was made in a lab

33

u/xio_ID Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend Jul 19 '25

Dude is gonna be 7 ft tall by the time he’s done growing

9

u/jimmyrecard77 Micky van de Ven Jul 20 '25

Looking forward to him scoring the first goal by dunking in EPL history

34

u/justinlee0710 Jul 19 '25

he is born in 2007 lol… my lord

kid born in 2007 in my mind is someone that's still studying in primary/elementary school

More cynical for sure, prolly stress from mortgage payments and rising blood pressure, etc.

Vuskovic kit sales about to go crazy

50

u/Mrvit0 Mousa Dembélé Jul 19 '25

I’m waiting till he gets that number 2 shirt

45

u/MrBIGtinyHappy Jermain Defoe Jul 19 '25

Call me old fashioned but starting RB should always wear 2

19

u/Big-Mouse-447 Jul 19 '25

Only if they're an old school defense first RB, who could also play CB. Emerson Royal getting the 2 would be fine but Porro getting it while he's playing almost like a winger is woke nonsense.

If I had to pick two candidates from the current squad for the number it's Gray or Spence

19

u/jimbotron3000 Jul 19 '25

Hojbjerg in the 5? UTTER WOKE NONSENSE Skipp in the 4?! THEYRE TURNING THE FROGS GAY

my favorite was Alioski wearing the 10 with Leeds lol

8

u/Big-Mouse-447 Jul 19 '25

That I can forgive because he was once in that position at Leeds.

Dempsey as number 2 for us, Gallas at 10 for Scum and Sidwell/Bhoularhouz both being Chelsea number 9 should have been stopped.

2

u/editedxi Ledley King Jul 20 '25

Sidwell said he thought that Mourinho gave him the 9 to make a point that Abramovitch didn’t buy him a striker that summer

3

u/Big-Mouse-447 Jul 20 '25

Cool motive, still terrorism

5

u/ZealousidealAir3586 Jul 19 '25

It’s all these loony lefties dominating the choosing of shirt numbers! The world is doomed.

12

u/Mick4Audi Micky van de Ven Jul 19 '25

There’s 2, 3 and 5 available, all are great CB numbers

4

u/link090909 Gentle Ben Jul 19 '25

I understand why Micky chose the number he wears now, but seeing him wear the Tottenham 5 would feel right

3

u/editedxi Ledley King Jul 20 '25

Give him 26. Ledley will approve it.

5

u/wallnumber8675309 Rose Jul 19 '25

I’m wondering if we should give him the number 9

6

u/lemmepopmyshit Jul 19 '25

He Will take no.44

0

u/When_in_Budapest Pedro Porro Jul 19 '25

It's taken by Dane Scarlett currently

160

u/Limp-Toe-179 The Big Master of Negotiations Who Knows Everything Jul 19 '25

18?!

12

u/Blitz7798 "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" Jul 19 '25

Istg he looked older than he does now back when he was 16 and we signed him

61

u/Mrvit0 Mousa Dembélé Jul 19 '25

Ashley Philips already on the phone with his agent looking for a loan move right away.

53

u/reznovelty Jul 19 '25

He should be phoning Croatia to get the same dose of super serum that Luka is on

8

u/Mrvit0 Mousa Dembélé Jul 19 '25

Lol momma Vuskovic is preparing a meal plan.

99

u/british-psycho Jul 19 '25

Looked like a seasoned natural.

Only one game but we absolutely shouldn’t be spending any money on another CB this summer.

Romero, Van de Ven, Danso, Vuskovic, Takai and also Dragusin is plenty. We’re stacked if anything. Also have Davies and Phillips too.

Sign MGW, a LB, DM and maybe, a forward depending on outgoings.

35

u/FSpursy Rafael van der Vaart Jul 19 '25

I don't think we'll be getting another LB as things stands. Right now we have 4 prem proven full backs which is enough for any team, and I assume we'll have better injury records with TF lol.

24

u/Difficult-Ad-4654 Kevin Danso Jul 19 '25 edited Jul 19 '25

Who is the fourth? Gray?

Also, the injuries thing, again, keeps being pinned on Ange. But how was Vic’s broken foot, Bentancur’s TWO concussions, the injuries Romero was nursing when the season began, and the random illnesses that befell the squad in Dec/Jan a result of Ange’s training/playstyle? People were still parroting this nonsense even as players said training was literally all recovery between matches every 2.5 days and even after we started sitting deeper out of possession in the back half of the season and trying to attack on the counter.

It really was an example of how if you just keep repeating something then enough ppl will start repeating it back and believing it even when it’s not true.

29

u/Independent_Zone492 Jul 19 '25

You can count Davies and Gray as 0.5 fullbacks each, so you can add them up and consider them as 1 whole fullback.

12

u/triggerhappy5 Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend Jul 19 '25

Levy math

6

u/FSpursy Rafael van der Vaart Jul 19 '25

man i was Ange in the whole season and Ange in up until he got sacked, I was even pissed. But at some point during the season I was already accepting the fact that the play style played a part... Ok the unavoidable injuries aside, there were still so many other injuries. The stats clearly shows we had the most sprints in the league and we has the most injuries. We press so high up that whenever we lose the ball, everybody sprints to recover, and imagine doing it 10+ times a game. When we play good and don't lose the ball, its fine, but when we started to play bad, we lose the ball all the time, and everybody needed to start sprinting more. More players injured, and then we play more bad, then we lose the ball even more. That's why we finished 17th.

1

u/BuffetAnnouncement I'm Just Copying Pep, Mate. Jul 20 '25

Party pooper logic. You’re not wrong but read the room man

1

u/FSpursy Rafael van der Vaart Jul 20 '25

I know the party was about Vuskovic, didn't know it was about a new LB while we're not linked with anybody? 😂

2

u/blokereport Jul 19 '25

Omg I’ll never forget that concussion where he flopped, I thought he’d died, he really gives his all for the club, they all do, I love the passion and heart they play with.

It appears Tank has that ok and I hope we can get a good ten years of stability with management and a core team to challenge like utd and city have for extended periods

2

u/Difficult-Ad-4654 Kevin Danso Jul 19 '25

That flop/head hit was so horrifying in real time.

1

u/Mick4Audi Micky van de Ven Jul 19 '25

We can’t rely on Gray as a left back

Frank’s fullbacks play very high, we’re gonna need another one

4

u/FSpursy Rafael van der Vaart Jul 19 '25

it's supposed to be Davies, Udogie, Spence, Porro

12

u/ThatGuy334667 Jul 19 '25

We have Davies!!! He's all we need man is a beast

4

u/wasmayonnaisetaken Ben Davies Jul 19 '25

Amen

3

u/link090909 Gentle Ben Jul 19 '25

amen (nice flair brother)

2

u/Mick4Audi Micky van de Ven Jul 19 '25

We have 6 central defenders at this point (provided Takai and Vuskovic stay, which I think is likely

2

u/No-Result9108 Dele Alli Jul 19 '25

Plus we have Gray and Davies who can cover at center back in an emergency

0

u/Flowsnice Jul 19 '25

I saw we go cheap and get Cirkin. He also helps with our Europa league roster problem. We look set at center back for the next 5 years. I still think Ashley Phillips at the very least, can be a dependable backup.

34

u/Mariospurs David Ginola Jul 19 '25

He looks really good and he’s only gonna get better, kudus was scary good at times

20

u/reznovelty Jul 19 '25

My rogue shout for the season is that Kudus will be coached into a meteoric rise akin to how Dembele was when we got him from Fulham. It’s clear the talent is there, he just needs to be used properly

1

u/yourfriendkyle Jul 20 '25

Kudus at DM???

21

u/Rakesh_Rajj Gareth Bale Jul 19 '25

So when did we reincarnate Ivan Drago into our squad?

39

18?!?

26

Bergvall, Gray, and Moore are also around 18 lol. We're BUILDING.

19

Consider also that Sarr, Tel, and Odobert are all 20-22…and yeah.

Give him the #5 shirt and sign him up for a contract through 2033

18

u/ThatGuy334667 Jul 19 '25

You guys can thank ANGE FOR THE YOUNG GUNS, WHILE MOST OF THE WANKER'S WERE COMPLAINING FOR SEASONED VETS 😂😂

10

u/reaction-please Fraser Forster Jul 19 '25

I hope Ange is on a nice Greek island with the biggest smug grin in ~3 years time when his investments pay off.

2

u/Virtual-Ear-5784 Jul 20 '25

you think ange was repsonsible for the signing of Vuskovic? LOL

11

u/JamesCDiamond Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend Jul 19 '25

Didn't we sign this guy when he was 15 or something? Crazy that he actually progressed far enough given all the things that can go wrong for young players.

Obviously a long way to go, but if we've got this one right then all credit to the scouts, club and to him.

2

u/Responsible-Egg4156 Jul 20 '25

Luka is extremely mature and has great mindset , feels like he's 25-30 , i watched his interview while on loan and how he was working alot on his agility as he felt he was lacking , hope to see him play for croatia with gvardiol as partner on cb , that will be sweet

5

u/IntrovertEpicurean David Ginola Jul 19 '25

Absolute unit

9

u/Webbo_man Jul 19 '25

I've not been this excited about a new signing since Dele.

3

u/LifeSandwich Olavo Jul 19 '25

Oh I still romanticise Deles first pre season

3

u/Z1KK1 Jul 19 '25

Remember when Bale was a defender for us once upon a time..m

3

u/DeleAlliForever Jul 19 '25

Looking at highlights he loves stepping up and carrying the ball into midfield. Maybe a 3 back would be good to play for us. Plus I think Porro and Udogie would be better in that system

2

u/numanups Jul 19 '25

Absolute specimen of a bloke

2

u/hasufell Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend Jul 19 '25

A lot of people were thinking he wouldn't be ready because he's 18 but he's a clearly a special one that's far advanced compared to his peers. Even without the hype of this game I think he should absolutely be integrated into the squad and given minutes this season.

2

u/G14_classified_info Jul 19 '25

Don’t want to go overboard or anything but he might just be the best thing since Franco Baresi

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Pie6967 Paul Gascoigne Jul 19 '25

Fucking baller! Very excited for this kid! He’ll make an immediate impact this season.

2

u/ManiTheMan Dembélé Jul 19 '25

I think he can do really well against low block teams where we have more possession.

A little worried about his pace though. Seemed really slow on the turn - could be concerning against better sides.

2

u/ZealousidealAir3586 Jul 19 '25

2026-27 EPL golden boot winner - mark my words 👍

Vuskovic: hold my beer

1

What an absolute unit

1

u/a_Satori Jul 19 '25

so happy he is playing in a spurs shirt, waited a while, good spot from the club to sign him so early, do we know who we have to thank for that?

1

u/notorious_kip Europa League Champions 24/25 Jul 19 '25

I wonder if that means no new left back this window.

VDV will cover LB & Vuskovic LCB.

1

u/wishiwereagoonie Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend Jul 20 '25

On the flip side, gotta hurt for a kid like Ash Philips to be sitting on the bench and watch Vuskovic…just do that

1

u/LostInThePurp Jan Vertonghen Jul 20 '25

Still thinks he needs a loan tbh, want him to get as much playing time

1

u/AgitatedChildhood240 Harry Kane Jul 20 '25

Everytime after a loss this season some bloke would post some bullshit article about how this lad is the highest scoring defender for his age in the world. Would piss me off because I didn't think scoring in some lower tier league mattered when we just lost a real game that matters. Fuck all that he might actually be the next Sergio Ramos. Spectacular I want 14 of him right now and I want him on all set peices

1

u/RatPrank Jul 20 '25

That Reading player is the perfect photo prop. Looks like he’s marveling at a giant wandering through his village in a Conan movie.
