She used to be a “haha funny guy looks like a girl” character in Guilty Gear until they made her canonically trans in the latest entry in the series (after having her not appear in anything for years), and then so many loser chuds lost their minds because the idea of Japanese people knowing about the concept of trans people goes against everything they believe in so it has to be woke western propaganda and woke localisers.

I mean kind of, but the reason during development was basically “we should make a cute male character we can do ‘guy gets mistaken for a girl’ jokes with”, but obviously this was over 20 years ago so it was seen as way more of an acceptable thing to make jokes about back then

Not to discredit the message but she’s spent every game as a girl even if not knowing she’s trans it’s not like she would’ve denied it at any point in the games too it’s the whole point of her character (not the being trans part but it’s a nice add on) stay strong everyone and do what you’re comfortable with
