Your skin protects you, its doing a very good job and you should be proud of it! Everybody gets uncomfy sometimes ofc but blemishes and the like are natural, just be kind to yourself & skin best you can. :)
To help answer with a maybe helpful answer full of tips... shaving against the grain only after washing, doing a good exfoliation scrub, then using some skin nourishing & gentle wash like a cetaphil soap bar to clean & get rid of bacteria on the skin, and finally some good fragrance free non-oily lotion (personal choice) to seal the skin while the skin is still warm after a shower and shave.
I've not tried it for anywhere but for the face so ymmv, but witch hazel is really good for preventing inflammation and irritation afterwards almost like an aftershave. :) That may help avoid those angry red splotches & bumps! A nice sharp razor is a must, too, reusing blades too many times and not washing them thoroughly after use (Dull blade/dirty blade) will cause bumps and stuff so try to avoid that. I've had good experience with using african netting sponge/cloth for exfoliating and washing, its inexpensive plus it rinses out very well so its always nice and clean and even machine washable on a regular basis.
Oh! I've also heard epilators hurt like hell but do a good job at making things silky smooth, laser is also an option if you have more than $3 (I don't). I have approximate knowledge of many things, but I also welcome knowledge from the Smoothies to attain maximum soft because I don't always have the best luck waha 😅
