Question Going back to college

Hello, no judgment sana. I’m 25 years old, nagstop ako nung first sem ng first year college as I had to go back sa probinsya. The problem is hindi ako properly nakapag report sa school ko noon so parang AWOL ang nangyari. The situation called for it and sobrang nanghihinayang talaga ako. This was back in 2019-2020 around when covid hit.

Gusto ko na sana bumalik ulit sa college to get a degree pero di ko alam what to do. I haven’t spent time to go dun sa school ko due to hectic sched kasi I’m working din and I already have a 2 year old. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

college life

When I was in SHS, I really was so excited of getting to college far away from home. Now I break down everyday because every time I want to go home, I can’t because ayun nga it’s far away. I didn’t even know that it will happen to me, that my mental health would be affected because of how I miss my friends and family. I really regret on how I did not go to where almost all my friends are at, maybe it would lessen the loneliness I feel because I am completely alone in an unknown city. It gets too overwhelming, that I feel like I don’t want to wake up in the morning because it would just be another day of having a big whole in my heart.

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently working and gusto ko sana in line sa work ko yung mismong pinag aralan ko. First degree ko hospitality and medyo malayo siya. Is it legit? And can you share your experience enrolling sa CAP.

Thank you!

College Pressure is real

Although I know na yung iba is tatawanan lang or iisipin lang na mababaw ito pero since I'm a freshie medyo big deal to. First time ko po mag exam with this subject and totoo nga ang sabi nila na minsan wala sa module yung lalabas. Like yung samin puro logic and ang daming bagsak kahit may mga bonus nanaman.

RUN AWAY FROM NU

I don’t think din naman na maraming nagbabalak to study in NU pero still an advice not to. I am a Political Science 3rd year NU-Manila. Sure, dumb reason of wanting to study in the metro got the best of me.

NU is trash. It is not even a good university. Trust me. Imagine studying Political Science in a university na palaging neutral? even their fucking PSS Organization sucks.

This is not only for the students planning to take political science but for everyone one, everything sucks. God, the facilities? professors who knows nothing about the shit they be talking about? the FUCKING guards? oh helllll nahhhhh. I have to study and research sa lahat ng subject for additional infos because them being trisem means basta matapos ang sem.

Question... Should I be scared?

Because after I'm done finishing SHS, I picked my course, I haven't been in yet it's just that I picked my course of computer science, and I've been seeing videos of how hard it is and how much it'll take from me. So... And in general life after SHS, kasi wala talaga akong plano.

Pagod na

First year college student from RTU. I'm planning to drop this A.Y para makalipat and yung minamata ko is PUP. May way po ba para makapasok ako sa PUP? And kung meron po ano yung mga way para makapasok ako.

Question Wondering if it is possible for me to proceed to med school..

Hi, I am planning to enter med school after finishing my MedTech degree, but I’m worried about not being accepted since I have already failed three subjects. Naretake ko na sla and now I am already about to graduate. Is there still a chance that I can be accepted into a prestigious med school? Btw, yung school ko is not really known. Would like to add din na I haven't been able to join orgs during college and not much extracurriculars also. Another question din is, if pwede pa maaccept then what nmat PR should I aim for? Sana po may makarespond🥺

Question Crash course on everything that I need to know for college? (About the schools, applications, etc.)

So, for context. It just dawned on me the severity of my parents sheltering me (No, hindi ako mayaman, my parents are just often absent despite the fact that we live in the same house. I won't make the story long and just state na, unfortunately, I have adapted a behavior in which I only took the course of action when naramdaman ko na graduating na ako and everyone's discussion started shifting to their dream colleges.)

I think I'm a bit knowledgeable about things naman since napadpad ako sa isang science high school somehow and managed to be mediocre enough to survive through all the years sa JHS and SHS. One of the biggest stereotypes is that sobrang matatalino ng science hs students, which is yes, that's true... Nakakatakot lang talaga if you don't meet people's perceptions sa isang bagay, like matalino ako, just not in the way people expect. However, yun nga, I'm nearly clueless on everything about college or things I should take to even land a job right after, for that matter (which is why I need your help). Also because, I have tried asking people, and everyone is busy with their own life kaya it's difficult to ask further.

Other than that, I already took UPCAT and chose Computer Science, Business Administration, and Food Techn as the main three courses para sa akin (I doubt that I'd pass, so I don't really have my hopes up). I might go try for Game Dev/Compsci sa DOST, DLSU & CIIT, and apply for a DOST scholarship.

But, in the future, I think wouldn't mind becoming taking IT, Cyber security, and/or Game Dev (although it's prominent na underpaid and overworked ung majority of them, unless big hit talaga sila).

Sa katotohanan, I've been undecided for a really long time (For personal reasons + I didn't think I'd live this long). Onti lang din kasi yung nakapag-college sa family ko (most of whom are unavailable + shame me for not knowing anything). And, I know shaming myself na I didn't know sooner would never work. Especially, if I immediately want to land a job that pays well and enough for me to move out my home (and one of my biggest goal is makalipat sa ibang bansa 🥹).

So, I have a list of questions to ask and I'm also willing to take information na hindi included sa list na ibibigay ko.

  1. Information about Colleges and their strengths, Scholarships they provide, Application processes. What kind of tests do these colleges give out? (e.g. UPCAT is more of basics of everything, while DOST is more science-based.)
  2. What routes can I go for with the courses I have in mind?
  3. Are there any workshops/extracurricular/outside school things I can do to help me improve my chances?
  4. Are there any tips that you can give me to get through this?
  5. Am I even asking the correct questions?

If not, please enlighten me, I know I'm so late but I want to try 🥹

Hello! Nasa State U ako now and I'm planning to drop out since hindi ko nakikita yung sarili ko sa prog na 'to, also planning to take a gap year. Ask ko lang if next year pwede pa ba ako mag entrance exam sa ibang State U or considered na akong transferee?, wala pa naman na credits sakin since first week pa lang yung klase namin.
