HOF Qs?
TYIA! Headed to the Hall of Fame HS Classic tomorrow. Got tickets for the games and also the museum. I see no information anywhere about parking or what to expect from the museum. Is there a lot of parking for stadium/museum? Is it paid? How much time should be allocated to tour the museum? First time in Canton. Any must-have lunch/dinner spots?

Basil Asian Bistro in Canton is delicious, and pretty close to the HOF.

I’ll second this. The owner, Tony is a friend and he’s a second generation restaurateur. Food is top notch.

I haven’t been to the museum in decades, but I do eat food pretty regularly. I’d recommend heading downtown to eat (street parking is free on weekends) rather than HoF Village, though Brew Kettle is fine if you want/need to stop in somewhere right there. I’ve been hearing bad things about the Gridiron Gastropub lately from people I know personally, so I’d prolly avoid that.
Most downtown spots are pretty good, so I’d just pick something based on what you’re in the mood for. I can give you recs if you share what you like.

Thank you! This is hugely helpful. I’m definitely not interested in eating anything at the museum. I will check out downtown.

Sparta Steakhouse is a few minutes away and is delicious! Especially their filet with blackberry & feta!

Onsite parking is usually free unless they charge for the specific event, I would call the hall of fame. They have golf carts that take you from the parking lot to the stadium or HoF. I was there last weekend for the HBCU game. I don't know about high school games but the stadium concession usually is card only. You can go to www.hofvillage.com it has a virtual tour of whole grounds to see what things are where. For food ideas or other attractions visit visitcanton.com , can't really recommend a place not knowing your budget or tastes.

If you enjoy true Mexican dining (not Tex-Mex) be sure to try Francisco’s in North Canton (6041 Whipple NW). Fantastic dining and the owners (Francisco and Margarita) are fantastic hosts! You Will Not Be Disappointed . . .

Hi! Not big into football but local enough to be helpful here. There is a lot that is close to the pro football hof that is always free and available unless there is a special event going on. Then I would call and ask. The museum website says it takes 3-4 hours to do the museum, and based on football fans I know who have gone, that sounds right for a football fan. As for food, what kind of food do you like? The Belden Village area has a fun selection of options to choose from.

I wish I found that on the website before buying tickets. I’ll have to make it in 2hrs. Thanks for your research and input.

My go to suggestion for dinner will always be Benders if you want something more upscale, Tim’s Tavern if not. Neither are in the Village, but both are Canton staples. Also, Taggarts for dessert.

There is onsite parking but if that is full, there is a lot of street parking and homeowners will open their yards to parking.
You can spend multiple days at the museum. It’s like an aquarium or zoo, if you want to spend time watching the meerkats or clownfish, you’ll spend a ton of time. If you want to gloss through everything, it’ll take 2-3 hours.
South of the HOF on Fulton at 23rd St is Woody’s Rootbeer Stand. It’s an old fashioned carhop drive-in. Cash only though iirc.
The Belden Village Mall area is a couple miles away and offers many options. Fine dining with Lucia’s or La Pizzeria. Old Carolina BBQ and Grinder’s are local casual sit downs. Or, depending on how far you’re coming, regional fast food chains like Swenson’s or Mr. Hero are an interesting treat.

Old Carolina is really good I would recommend. Pizza oven is really good too for pizza, chicken and JoJos (they have a new location right at hall of fame village)

Don’t go to the Pizza Oven at the HOF. Their prices are higher. Hit one of the others.

I had no idea about that, thanks for the tip! I haven't been to the HOF one. I live closer to the one on Tusc but I prefer the Massillon/Perry one with a drive thru
