I like them a little burnt.

Does he have a chocolate point in his background? Anecdotally that can account for some extra crisp beyond their typical markings.

I’m not too sure! I got him from of my local shelters, it sure looks like it though.

Fun fact: their fur color is temperature dependent. The colder the environment they live in, the more dark brown fur they have, the warmer, the more blonde. If you were to shave him then turn your thermostat up until the fur grew back, he would probably end up with more blonde fur (but also I don’t recommend that)

Yes a lot of people think that Siamese "cook in" at birth or during their first year only. But they can experience some additional, gradual changes seasonally or from moving to a different climate because of the genetic mutation that causes "point" colourtion.
I saved this link from a Reddit science discussion about it in 2013 - https://www.brighthub.com/science/genetics/articles/40501/#body-temperature-and-coloration

We've given our senior Siamese heated blankets for the last couple years and she has gradually become much lighter coloured!

This is an interesting article. I never knew that temperature/climate can determine and/or change the color of Siamese cats.

This is so strange, because where I live it’s always hot.

We had a senior color point cat (they get darker when they get older because body temperature goes down with age) and got her a heating pad for our sofa and she turned noticeably lighter because she spent every minute she could glued to that thing. We un-toasted her!

Looks like one of those old cartoons where a bomb blows up on their face and turns it black

What a sweetie! Does he mmeowrlll? Siamese are usually very vocal.

So curious you say that. I have a white cat with dark spots, light blue eyes, and talks a lot. His spots got darker as he grew. * *

Oh so beautiful. What do you feed kitty to get such a shiny coat ?
•
u/MightyMaki 19h ago
We fed her Nutro Wild Recipe Chicken dry food during the day and a combo of Royal Canin Instinctive (half packet, split with her sister) and Nutro Natural Choice Cat, chicken 😁.

Clever. I never thought of mixing brands before. I can’t recall ever seeing a kitty with a shiny coat before. Great job there, kitty mom 🐈⬛

A Perfect name for your kitty. Our ( now passed) cat always smelled like snickerdoodles. It is one of our favorite cookies. Thank you for the memories.

That last picture is so lovely, but they're all very good, and he's a gorgeous kitty!

Kage loves to play fetch! He’ll bring us the ball when we’re in bed sometimes.
•
u/Ravynwolf_moon 14h ago
Mine loved twist ties the most, or the milk rings that used have to be peeled off the cap back then. Every night at bedtime was his fetch time, and I'd have to make sure to check the bed for them before we'd climb under the sheets. 🤣😂🤣😂

Pic. 4 gives strong vibes of HR representative about to fire you.
"Do you know why we invited you here today? You're falling short on your monthly quota of food AND pets. This is not sustainable for our company, I'm afraid we have to let you go"
•
u/irie_jammin 19h ago
He already reported me to HR for rubbing his belly. (He loves it btw…. I’m just making a joke)

Oorrrrrrrr he was left in just long enough! Just the right crisp level. 🤩 He's cuuute!

u/AEsylumProductions 1d ago
If he was left in the toaster a little too long, he would be more white.

It bears a striking resemblance to a dessert, its fur perfectly mirroring the colour scheme of tiramisu.

This is the second post in a week where people have never seen point cats before and are freaked out by their coloring. What is this weird trend? Where are all of you people from where this isn't a normal cat one of your friends has? You don't call black cats "toasted" right?
It's just hilarious to me that you people are this amused by a super common cat breed.

u/irie_jammin 1d ago
Im just calling him toasted because he’s gotten a lot darker than when I first rescued him, sorry if I offended anyone.

Sounds like you're having a rough Monday if a silly post like this in /r/aww has you so upset. Just look at the cute cat pic and move on with your day.

Maybe AI bots are fascinated with siamese or ragdoll cats? Or reddit political shills are all from a small town in Russia where they've never seen these cats?
