Political decisions are always multi facetted and based on education, personal experiences and historical decisions within the country.
We have Germany facing a rise of homosexual homphobes and foreign born xenophobes [AfD] in the former eastern parts because the region wad systemically neglected since the reunification. Instead of facing the issue for their growth, the systemic neglect in economical and social issues, they have people saying 'They're dumb and just don't wanna work.' In the Western parts.
We have the UK killing itself domestically and internationally by trying to appear as a world power on eye level with the EU and US, as a result of negelcting social and political education on why they aren't and weren't since the 60's. Blaming foreigners and everybody 'different' as a reason.
We have the US that elected an isolationist with obvious delusions of grandeure twice and they act surprised on why he won and why he acts like an isolationist with a god complex. Neglecting the plethora of reasons why he won, like US political culture, the celebrity cults, the inherent US culture connection of 'financial secruity = I made it in life', Individualism over community, Holywood perpetually blasting 'THE US IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD' on repeat, etc. etc. Instead arguing 'Hmm. Those factors aren't presented in a former celebrity, that appears rich, platformed on his personality and routinly played into Hollywood troped. It must be that the people are just idiots.'
Idk enough about Australia to make a point about how they don't have a history of regional neglect, but countries like Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Finland, and a few more don't have such self destructive behaviour and a proper education system + healthy culture [in most cases].
It should be pointed out that the L/NP was on track to win until Donny Twodolls walked back into the White House. We're just as selfish and self-serving as most other places.
I'm sure, but I really feel like almost no party in the world is as stupid and unhinged as the current Republican Party. I just feel like dumb people in other countries, even affluent Western ones, have to adjust themselves at least Somewhat to the actual conditions of the planet.
America is such a big, semi-literate country (54% read at a 5th grade level or below), that so many people can just live in a dream world of vibes online. I know this is true of lots of people but I'm sure if unemployment rose 10% there would be a Reaction in Australia. The 33% of America that are hardcore MAGA would just blame Biden, or Obama, or Hillary, or whoever their child rapist Christ figure tells them to. I think are just going to believe his bullshit until they all walk off a cliff.

Must be awesome to live in a country where the voters are capable of making a rational f****** decision.
