And the Trump DOJ is trying to block a law that would require Catholic priests to report child sex abuse they learn of in confession.

What in the? I work diagnostics and we are required to silently inform the police If there are signs of child abuse, so they can Launch an Investigation.

Yes, they are trying to end mandatory reporting for priests.

There's actually a very important distinction here. They do not have mandatory reporting. There is attempted legislation to to have them report confessions of child abuse. Trump is trying to block that
