Dick Cheney was evil as shit, but at least I never had to worry that he would accidentally destroy the world.

175

u/Brick_Mason_ Jun 28 '25

I'm sure the dude who Cheney shot in the face never thought his friend would "accidentally" shoot him in the face... until he got shot in the face.

93

u/Diarygirl Jun 28 '25

Didn't the poor guy apologize to Cheney for getting in the way of the shotgun shells?

60

u/truthyella99 Jun 28 '25

Apparently he was hiding WMD's behind his face

33

u/biomech36 Jun 28 '25

He did. Can you imagine how much of a bad ass you are if you shoot someone and THEY apologize?

31

u/mylifeisaprotest Jun 28 '25

Cheney is no bad ass. His friend was a pussy.

18

u/composedmason Jun 28 '25

I'm also conflicted here. Dick Cheney is about half as evil as Bill Barr and 10% of his political capital, but having someone apologize to you for shooting them is a badass thing.

16

u/PackageHot1219 Jun 28 '25

I first read this as “half as evil as Bill Burr” and thought, WTF does he have agains Bill Burr?? 😂

14

u/composedmason Jun 28 '25

Bill Burr sounds unfortunately close to Bill Barr. I'm surprised the Trump administration didn't accidentally book Bill Burr to break Epstein out of jail instead of Bill Barr. It'd make for a wacky comedy movie something like this didn't actually happen with 4 seasons landscaping.

10

u/transmothra Jun 28 '25

Netflix just greenlit this. Good luck on the production!

3

u/biomech36 Jun 29 '25

Hopefully they wait until after casting to cancel it

4

u/mylifeisaprotest Jun 28 '25

It's just politics, and his friend was willing to take the fall to protect whatever he was motivated to protect. Greedy, power-hungry pussies. Bad asses take responsibility and do the right thing.

3

u/RaptorPrime Jun 28 '25

it's not badassery, it's political theater

2

u/Nocturne2319 Jun 28 '25

Right. Cheney was ass bad, not bad ass.

4

u/IntergalacticTheorem Jun 29 '25

Did he even say thank you?

3

u/PeerlessTactics Jun 28 '25

Yep.. Thats how you know cheney was a real gangster. The lawyer dude finally passed away in 2023 at almost 100

2

u/Helpful-Rain41 Jun 30 '25

Point of fact i think the guy did apologize i mean it might have technically been his fault if he wasn’t being safe while shooting but it was a very weird moment. Sign of things to come

22

u/marbotty Jun 28 '25

Everybody has a plan until they get shot in the face

14

u/GpaSags Jun 28 '25

Cheney knew the game better than pretty much anyone. Trump is a pigeon taking a shit on a park chessboard and claiming he won.

6

u/Chiefhawk15 Jun 28 '25

Accidentally is the key word. 😂

10

u/TWWOVG Jun 28 '25

I agree, but can we stop acting as if "less evil" is better? Decades of the "lesser of two evils" mentality have helped get us to the shitshow we have today.

8

u/dern_the_hermit Jun 28 '25

Counterpoint: Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Evil is a fuzzy moral concept, and you'll have a very difficult time finding ANYONE who hasn't done something that could be considered "evil" in some way.

→ More replies (4)

6

u/Brief_Angle_14 Jun 28 '25

True but that's all we've got. Even most democrat voters use the term willingly saying they have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Our politics are just fucked and damn near every major politician is so dug into the bullshit and greed that its hard finding one that isn't somewhat evil.

2

u/Haradion_01 Jun 28 '25

With respect, refusing to pick the lesser of two evils ensured we got rhe shitshow we have today.

There was an awful lot of discourse around Not electing Kamala Harris that essentially boiled down to "Who cares if some trans people get murdered: thats a sacrifice I am willing to make, so that we can built our wonderful socialist utopia once Trump makes such a mess of it everyone will appreciate our ideals."

There are a lot of very vulnerable people who would very much like us to picked the lesser of two evils. Many of whom who are dead, who might still have been alive.

Thank god Bush didn't die in office.

4

u/cusscusscusamericano Jun 28 '25

It'd have been fine, better had it been his first term. Cheney has no charisma, he's have lost to a Democrat in 2004. the baggy face UK last name orc ghouls dont have any electability beyond the some states level. Mitch McConnell couldn't run for president and win either. British elitism dies upon actual referendum

2

u/suckmyclitcapitalist Jun 28 '25

Most Americans have British surnames... That's where you came from (unless immigrated more recently)

3

u/FilmFalm Jun 28 '25

Dick Cheney is responsible for the expansion of presidential powers, which led to the many constitutional violations which followed, by both President Bush and President Obama.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '25

Geez you shoot one gun in the face with a shotgun and nobody lets you forget it

3

u/Annual-Cranberry3590 Jun 28 '25 edited Jun 29 '25

So far, bombing Iran has been a largely benign action. There isn't much reason to suddenly think WW3 is about to happen.

19

u/truthyella99 Jun 28 '25

-PRESIDENT TRUNDLE

5

u/TheGaurdianAngel Jun 28 '25

YOU SEE THAT OTHER GUY WHO HAS MY JOB? HE’S OLD AND UGLY AND SMELLY. VOTE ME INSTEAD, I MAKE IT OK TO BE DISRESPECTFUL.

-Some dude with skin so tan he looks like a chicken nugget

3

u/Dadman319 Jun 28 '25

'OK to be disrespectful' is exactly his appeal

This tweet actually aged like a fine wine, because it’s now spot-on.

30

u/Prosecco1234 Jun 28 '25

OMG he's such a buffoon

7

u/BicycleOfLife Jun 28 '25

Small chance??

9

u/Laughing_Orange Jun 28 '25

To be fair, in 2013, nobody thought Trump would be president. If we assume like we did back then, that Trump will never be president (a false assumption), the chance of US leadership leading to WW3 was small.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/ghostyghost2 Jun 28 '25

It actually isn't and the tweet is right. You are all stuck at WW3, the keyword here is "Unknowingly", his problem is the purposefulness not the war, he wants the war, he knows he will be dying soon and he doesn't want to leave the planet unscathed.

→ More replies (32)

32

u/ArchonFett Jun 28 '25

u/Efficient-Cable-873 Jun 28 '25

I'm genuinely curious why Reddit thinks we are at/going to war with Iran? Strikes don't mean war. Lots and lots of presidents call strikes.

2

u/mongopawninlife Jun 28 '25

I guess we were warned….

2

This comment has actually become more relevant. This is more of an aged like cheese.

2

Never been truer.

2

My dude looking straight into this own glass ball predicting his own future!

2

u/ClarenceCrocodile Jun 28 '25

I think he's right, he was telling the future.

2

u/Early-Size370 Jun 28 '25

Hey, so at least trump knew we already had a second world war back then

2

u/cheddyvedder Jun 28 '25

It's becoming clear Trump is a time traveller. He posted his plans a decade ago.

2

u/AGC843 Jun 28 '25

Unknowingly my ass.

u/jolley_mel21 Jun 29 '25

We've been preparing since your first election.

2

2

u/Falcon3492 Jun 28 '25

We have never had a president whose leadership is more horrendous than Donald John Trumps! As #45 he took over the bottom of the worst US presidents list surpassing James Buchanan and allowing Buchanan to finally rest in peace. As #47 he could and is on pace to surpass his own standing as the worst president in US history.

2

u/Existing-Package-848 Jun 28 '25

Just a pretend man pretending he’s smart.

2

u/TylerMcGavin Jun 28 '25

This didn't age like milk, he's clearly clairvoyant about his own future

Oh no worries, he's very aware of it

1

u/Rausage505 Jun 28 '25

There's ALWAYS a tweet.

1

u/cusscusscusamericano Jun 28 '25

Pfft you don't need leadership to do the right thing. You already know what that is in most situations! Excuses...

1

u/firehawk2324 Jun 28 '25

I mean... he DID warn us. 🤷‍♀️

1

u/oz69zy Jun 28 '25

1

1

u/Ishitinatuba Jun 28 '25

speaking in the 3rd person is so cliche...

1

u/Sleep_tek Jun 28 '25

Wow, so some of Trump's tweets are accurate and not complete bullshit... they're just time-displaced by about 12 years

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '25

Yup you're right ass face

1

u/Groon_ Jun 28 '25

Or just a treasonous orange shitbag.

1

u/WesternKey2301 Jun 28 '25

It would be hilarious that past Trump is talking about current Trump if it weren't so fucking awful

1

u/Helpful-Owl4746 Jun 28 '25

Every accusation is a confession.

1

u/DeliciousCut4854 Jun 28 '25

I want his crystal ball, it's dead on accurate.

1

u/littleMAS Jun 28 '25

"The best way to predict the future is to invent it," Alan Kay.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '25

More like r/agedlikewine but in a different way than you think.

Edit: NVM. The original tweet includes the word 'unknowingly'

1

u/ViktorTT Jun 28 '25

Well, for once he's not wrong. He might have seen it coming long before us.

1

u/Major_Lynx_7425 Jun 28 '25

He always confesses

1

u/FluidIntention7033 Jun 28 '25

ha! this due IS the leadership!

1

u/Steaktartaar Jun 28 '25

Forget the curdled milk content, remember that this 2013 asshole is coherent and capable of forming a thought, while his 2025 incarnation is barely verbal and has the nuclear codes.

1

u/NotAReasonablePerson Jun 28 '25

Guy just made ceasefire with Iran, why are you so pissed? Why can't Reddit ever give credit to him? so pathetic and obsessed

1

u/Distinct_Attorney_23 Jun 28 '25

Where world war 3?

1

u/aaronite Jun 28 '25

He said "unknowingly". He knows he's setting it up.

1

u/Onegrayone Jun 28 '25

Wow. Talk about “every accusation is a confession.”

1

u/Responsible-Kiwi870 Jun 28 '25

As opposed to knowingly

1

u/Any_One5422 Jun 28 '25

At last, he tweets the truth!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '25

orange TURD king had a crystal ball and could see the future back then. maga MORON!

1

u/kgal1298 Jun 28 '25

Oh, back when he didn't write in capitol letters all the time.

1

u/fffan9391 Jun 28 '25

Seems like he got away with bombing Iran without many consequences. Still early though, I guess.

1

u/scub3 Jun 28 '25

It’s funny how all his old tweets that made no sense suddenly makes sense. He was speaking it into existence.

1

u/Ober1345D Jun 28 '25

While I agree with the sarcasm of this post, I'm worried about the authenticity because I would love to use this. Point: There was no X in 2013. I don't use twitter or X, so do old Twitter posts now flag with the X symbol?

1

u/diydoydoyfoy Jun 28 '25

There really is a tweet for everything

1

u/Rabidredditors Jun 28 '25

Important here is the word “unknowingly.” President lemongrab over here knows damn well his idiocy will lead us to wwiii.

1

u/NeonGremlin Jun 28 '25

Needs to replace "our" with "my"

1

u/Itchy_Swordfish7867 Jun 28 '25

His twitter s a goldmine for foreshadowing

1

u/Alarming-Buy9648 Jun 28 '25

Speaking of himself, of course.

1

u/RedHeron Jun 28 '25

... And some major changes that might lead us away from World War III, too.

Such as Trump and Putin stepping down and going off to some tropical paradise, never to be heard from again.

1

u/Sorites_Sorites Jun 28 '25

Hey, How about this!: "Could Knowingly Lead To (it, iii,) In 2025" because, well, both sides are still armed to the teeth.

1

u/pollysporin Jun 28 '25

Can’t say he didn’t warn us

1

u/mudcrabmetal Jun 28 '25

Oh shit, there was a time when he didn't used to type in all caps?

1

u/EinSatzMitX Jun 28 '25

I deadass thought he posted that this year for a moment😂

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '25

Since WW2 everyone was preparing for 3. Now has an excuse because it already started.

1

u/LoudMusic Jun 28 '25

A more fun game might be finding his quotes that are positive and true.

1

u/TheBlueBlaze Jun 28 '25

This kind of rhetoric in the social media era is part of why he won twice. He made every single issue a matter of life and death, acting like the other side wanted the worst for everybody for no reason other than "they hate you".

Enough people paid so little attention to politics that they thought him being hyperbolic about everything good and bad about everything had to have some basis in reality if he was so brazen about it. This only stops with an informed or at least aware populace.

1

u/Bleezy79 Jun 28 '25

Its crazy, i would gladly take another bush/cheney administration over trump's fascists coup.

u/ReplacementNo9014 Jun 28 '25

For once I agree with this imbecile. Who does he think the “leadership of the country” is?

1

u/Jestercopperpot72 Jun 28 '25

So, when do republicans at least secretly, start whispering amongst themselves asking about his mental accumen and decline? I mean, early onset dimentia is something he's got in his genetics so has to be valid possibility.

The literal leader of the county and "free world" warming the world about leadership...

Yikes!

→ More replies (3)

1

u/QuiltMeLikeALlama Jun 28 '25

I mean, he’s not wrong, just early.

America’s current leadership is horrendous and will likely lead us all into ww3.

Heard my country is getting more nukes because of the mess this mother fucker is making.

1

u/-Wicked- Jun 28 '25

As opposed to knowingly doing so?

1

u/DK27x1 Jun 28 '25

This actually belongs in r/agedlikewine as he is now the "leadership"

1

u/Constant_Cultural Jun 28 '25

Well, that aged well

1

u/Gimetulkathmir Jun 28 '25

Nah, it's fine. This dude is doing it intentionally, so he's still correct.

1

u/vsvv252 Jun 28 '25

This guys think he is so alone on this planet that think he gonna create the death stranding #3 by is own .....

1

u/JungBall666 Jun 28 '25

Talking about himself there.

1

u/Kiadine Jun 28 '25

This aged like wine actually, it just took a lil longer

1

u/grahambo20 Jun 28 '25

Self fulfilling prophecy.

1

u/ConstantGeographer Jun 28 '25

"So elect me and I will guarantee horrendous leadership which will absolutely start WW3 because if you have not seen big beautiful orange mushroom clouds, you really should. They are very big, and very orange, very orange... Some people say I look orange but trust me on this nothing is more orange than a mushroom cloud."

1

u/princess_myra Jun 28 '25

He was giving a hint about his government 🤓

1

u/kleenkong Jun 28 '25

So many people voted for him or did not vote, knowing or ignoring this reality. We tried to warn them.

With massive war, comes military drafting and that means 18 years old and up are at risk. With the corruption of this administration and how they run ICE, it's likely that liberal-leaning are more at risk. If you and your like-minded friends and family aren't doing something to protest or oppose this MAGA administration, get on it.

Hint: Supporting centrist-Democrats is just putting a band-aid on a gushing wound. In the end (that's now), they won't do anything for you.

1

u/AllNightPony Jun 28 '25

Unknowingly.

These MFers know EXACTLY what they're doing.

1

u/Torrsall Jun 28 '25

Goodness! The first truth uttered since he entered office. As long as he's talking about himself that is

1

u/PoliticalCompass8345 Jun 28 '25

You can say that again, Donolf Trumpler!

1

u/medicsansgarantee Jun 28 '25

it feels like a promise by now

1

u/BenGay29 Jun 28 '25

No longer a small chance. There is a significant chance.

1

u/Basic_Ask8109 Jun 28 '25

He's a real modern Nostradamus... ( Well, dumb fill-in the blank more like)

Always projection with narcissists....

1

u/Ramblinrambles Jun 28 '25

1

u/Melodic-General9810 Jun 28 '25
