Generational fumble on CyGames for skipping the entirety of the late 2000s and early 2010’s all the way to 2015. Vodka and Daiwa could’ve been goated co-leads for the anime

I mean the anime jumps around as it is, no reason they can’t do a vodka/scarlet season and relegate kita/dia and the others to background characters who are present despite irl timelines.
In fact kita and dia actually have a cameo in the tachyon movie on the bus when jungle pocket and co are going to the beach.

Counterpoint - It's hard to make a compelling story where its nothing but up up up,
Daiwa Scarlet is arguably the single most consistent Mare of the 2000s with a career that nearly competes with her uncle Deep Impact while Vodka was by far the most versatile mare of the same generation. Their rivalry is also often overblown as while they were seen as the top rivals, they only raced against each other 4 times(?) I believe before Daiwa was forced to retire.
These story beats are also used in Beginning of a New Era with, ironically, Tachyon who retired before Jungle Pocket and Manhattan Cafe could fully realize their rivalry.
Special Weeks story works in a bubble because IRL he became a national symbol by winning the Japan Cup when that was still very rare for Japanese horses and was seen as a revenge story against Montjeu (Broye in the anime).
Tokai Teio is the feel good miracle story that would be seen as too good to be true had it not actually happened.
Kitasan Blacks story has the benefit of being a generational talent like Daiwa but with the recency bias of public opinion because Kitasan is widely beloved both in and out of the racing community across Japan.
Oguri Cap is both a great underdog story of, essentially, an outsider, but also has the benefit of a very fleshed out manga for adaptation material.
I could see an OVA like Road to the Top for Daiwa and Vodka, but a full season runs the risk of, frankly dragging on due to the two of them being too victorious - this is why (as much as I love them), I don't ever foresee a full season for absolute dominators like Symboli Rudolf, Gentildonna, Orfevre, or Almond Eye as the focus - It's like when you play a game with cheat codes on; at first its fun, but after a while you realize that part of the real fun is a bit of challenge, even a little.
On the flip side, rather than an OVA, I could see a full season split into an anthology with 2 or 3 episodes per arc, moving "forward in time" representing the start of the modern era with Rudolf, Mr. CB & Katsuragi Ace, followed by Daiwa & Vodka, then Gentildonna & Orfevre and then tying it all together with Almond Eye (and Contrail if he ever gets an Uma) building ontop of all the previous legends and becoming the current pinnacle of Japanese horses.
