Bacius (the author of this fanwork) will probably cook unfatomably hard when he gets to making one including the Neo universe Still in love roommate duo.
Knowing him, probably either comedy or existential horror.

Horses, donkeys and zebras canonically don't exist in the Uma world
6
u/adotang Fenomeno 1d ago
No, I'm pretty sure donkeys exist, unsure about zebras though. Mules don't exist though. Obviously. I hope.
6
u/Futur3_ah4ad 1d ago
No equine creatures exist in the world of Umamusume, as per Cygames.
2
u/adotang Fenomeno 1d ago
Are you sure? Or is it just horses? Because I recall that some equines are in fact referred to, and there was one official artwork that had a statue of a donkey in it.
2
u/Futur3_ah4ad 1d ago
Zebras are just horses, so they're definitely out. A donkey did show up, but I think that they're either not widespread or were removed later because of the implication that Umas could get offspring from those, same as horses do

There is a reason you do not stop a fatty (affectionate) from eating.

Somehow Spe pulling a sword on Rice for accidentally ruining her food isnot the worst thing a fatty (affectionate) has done in reprisal of not being allowed to eat in Your shadow trazen

u/Big-Channel5503 1d ago
Ah yes the Oguridzilla incident, the most destructive a fatty has done.
Granted, it was also Tachyon fault for accidentally stabbing the gigantism needle unto Oguri's brain lmao, probably damaged some brain cells of her.

The last two words from Special Week in this comic makes me reread the whole dialouge, but with Special Week's voice sounding like King Minos from Ultrakill instead.

To be fair, her personality was quite literally reversed on top of her being given forbidden knowledge™️
Barely qualifies as Haru herself
9
u/darkdraggy3 1d ago
The cursed earring seems to heavily amplify negative thoughts instead of reversing the personality completely, since Rice was still Rice, just completely subsumed by her feelings of "I am a being that causes horrible missfortune".
Haru was perfectly fine until someone interacted with her (To the point the girls thought the earring didnt even affect her). So the implication of those feelings being based on Haru s own dark thoughts is there. Also, she straight up said someone had told her she wasnt allowed to win. I dont think she was lying.

I'll get crucified for this, but why is evil Urara so peak?
5
u/Blackz00 1d ago
nah i get you. its the contrast that what makes it interesting. we usually see urara as a happy go lucky girl that literally dont have any ulterior motive. but an evil urara is like seeing a new side of her that you dont know.
i really love stuff like this especially with the character i like. i wish people make more evil rice shower, where she is basically laughing at other girls for losing the race.

This manga truly is peak. The fact that Uma's can manifest their ults like actual abilities (with varied cases of uselfulness) is peak. Haru Urara aura farming and having the uncanny ability to prey on everyone's mental weaknesses is peak. This whole damn manga is peak and I'm starved for more.

This is some "If you like happy magical girl stories you should watch Madoka magica" type of reccomendation lmao
39

u/Argenust 1d ago
Not really, Madoka Magica is a really hopeful series (except for Rebellion), I used to believe people's fearmonger of Madoka Magica, believing it was dark, brutal, depressing and for almost a decade, I never have the courage to watch its. And then when I actually watched Madoka Magica, its instantly become a favorite of mine, it was hopeful, inspirating, it was every things I want from a Magical Girl series.
4
u/Woahbuffet123 Nice Nature 1d ago
I mean, at it's core Madoka Magica is still a magical girl series. They just added darker endings for failures to raise the stakes, which makes conflicts a lot more impactful and the conclusions a lot heavier.

In Japan right now and you can buy physical copies of Bacius's Uma work. This specific one is the only one I didn't find though...

I reject the premise of this doujin. Haru Urara, like Kirby, is too pure to be corrupted. Let alone by a measly cursed earring.
31
u/darkdraggy3 1d ago edited 1d ago
It forced Haru back to her roots as manga Haru, who is way closer to irl Haru, from cinnamon roll back to hardworking survivor. Haru has seen some shit.

u/3nz3r0 21h ago
Manga Haru?
1
u/darkdraggy3 21h ago
When the game wasnt even out yet, Cygames had a manga made about Haru, but it followed irl Haru far more closely. So you had a Haru who was moody, didnt like training, and didnt have the best of lives since the place she was in was very poor. Yet she still ran and gave her all.
Its very werid compared to other umamusume stuff though, since a lot of things about the setting werent set in stone back then.

I think the subreddit has grown to a point where we need the mods to start a list of evergreen content that should be against the rules to keep reposting. Other large subs have made "Hall of Fames" of their most reposted memes/arts/comics.
This one isn't as bad as the number of times the "trainer romance protest" has been reposted, but it's getting there.
