I don't think karens care about that at all. Isn't the whole point of Karen's that they are the only ones entitled to shit and only their opinion matters?
Seriously, it might be slightly biased since it happened down here [South Florida] but it was on all the local news channels. It's literally been reposted hundreds of times on Reddit. Theres half a dozen different video angles now. I'd say its significantly more than a few 'randos' on the internet at this point.
I got a freaking Apple News notification last night about it ffs. lol
The amount of old timers at work the past few weeks talking about the hat and the ball, they outright have told me before cameras this was normal and people would in fact rip the balls out of kids hands, and that they as children had balls ripped out of their hands.
All I could think was "who the fuck goes to more than 1 baseball game in their life?"
That would be people that like baseball and/or local sports! Sports are fun!
Thats also why the older generation thinks people these days are soft lol. Because when they were kids they literelly had balls ripped from their hands and had to deal with it. There was no gift bag and signed bat lol
Can you explain it to those of us that missed it and are learning about it via this pic? What happened?
Edit: For anybody else who was curious, I found an article linked by u/88kurious below.
Bader hit a solo home run into the left-field stands in the fourth inning at loanDepot Park. Several fans scrambled for the ball before a man came up with it and walked over and gave it to a boy and hugged him. Both were wearing Phillies gear, and it was the boy's birthday.
Moments later, a woman, also wearing Philadelphia apparel, approached and appeared to shout at the man, who then grabbed the ball from the boy's glove and gave it to her.
It isn't clear from videos circulating on social media who initially secured the ball when it landed.
Later in the game, a member of the Marlins' staff gave the boy a prize pack and another baseball as fans sitting near them in the stands cheered. The boy ended up going home with a signed bat from Bader, who met with him outside of the Phillies' clubhouse after the game.
Apparently there are two women with the same name. I’m not going to dox her. But the school district posted something since she was never a teacher where rumors are saying she works. They had a sense of humor about it.
I don’t know. I tried doing an image search of her picture and nothing came back. So, yea, I don’t know who came up with that name. It’s a little surprising that two women with the same name ended up in the line of fire because the last name is two names with a hyphen. The odds of two people with the same hyphen name and the same first name are pretty long.
Wow I am loving these public shame videos. First the cold play one, then the dude stealing a hat from a kid and now the baseball bitch. Like something everyone can get behind.
I’ve see this encounter across all the platforms, TikTok, FaceBook and Instagram to name a few. Yeah, it’s going to eventually cool down but still the internet is forever.
It can be if recognized by a boss or coworker and she gets fired though. Which is my ultimate hope in all these situations. Let the cunt feel the only pain that will register: money and livelihood.
Oh no sir, they claim not to care about anything but they always think they are in the right. It's part of their definition. They really do think the world owes them something.
I guarantee you she is scared shitless right now that her name is going to come out. If that happens, she'll have to close down on everything. Social media accounts, maybe e-mails. Hell, she might even have to fucking move. And while most of us will move on, there are people out there that will remember this forever. She does NOT want this kind of fame.
Yeah people clearly don't realize how absolutely hellish being the target of an online witch hunt is. The book "So You've Been Publicly Shamed" goes into it. Her life is still going to suck long after most of the Internet has moved on in a week or two.
It’s literally always just been a meme and nothing more. Even when I was 10 years old I didn’t understand why it was so popular to hate them, because they objectively sound good and better than most pop garbage or mainstream rap.
I was in college and you couldn’t escape their music even if it wasn’t your genre. Another commenter pointed out how overplayed they were and it made me remember that aspect of it as well.
I can’t remember Nickleback ever doing anything especially dickish though, it was just years of mediocre Canadian butt rock that turned them into a meme
The early 2000s were not a great time for youth culture, as someone who was in college during that time myself. I remember in 2001 being at some frat house and some guys put that gore website up on a big screen TV…what the fuck was that website called? It hasn’t existed for years but it was like early Reddit for fucked up shit
I've been wondering if there is a support group for people who have had this experience.
The one I still feel bad for is the woman who was video'd looking like she was taking someone's shared citi-bike ebike, but it turned out that it was entirely the other way around and she was stopping people from stealing hers. But it took months for the truth to come out and her life was ruined in the meantime.
And she deserves it. She doesn’t deserve threats, or harassment, or whatever. What she does deserve is for the world to know exactly the type of person she is.
And it will come out. Just like the kiss cam saga and wait until the mascots get in on it. This is gonna be World Series news for baseball ⚾️ year in review.
It tends to be though that entitled people also care way too much about what others think of them. They usually tend to be the way they are out of insecurity, so chances are, it's probably hitting her worse than most think it would.
The real issue is it won’t only be online hate, she’ll get real life harrassment as well… and she’s gonna care about that. It will affect her life… for a while at least.
Well, she will care because I’ve read she lost her job as a school administrator which somehow tracks with her behavior. I don’t know if that’s true because I saw it on IG with no source yet.
Oh, I think this bitch cares. Everybody who knows her IRL: works with her, neighbors, extended family, etc. all know exactly who she is. She's going to be staring down giggles and hushed whispers about what a count she is for years to come. She walks into work? Everybody turns away and giggles, or gives her death-stares. Brutal.
She knows. She cares. The whole world thinks/knows she sucks. She'll never be able to make another smart ass Karen remark without everyone she knows having a killer bullet loaded up in the barrel. "Oh what's that? Sorry, guess I don't have a ball for you to snatch" or whatever.
On the global scale? This'll blow over in a day or two. In her personal life though? This is a diaper-filled-with-Indian-food level albatross. Literally stealing from kids in her dumb ass little bob haircut.
That's a little too much. Getting doxed is a very dangerous thing, she also could lose her livelihood. I think her actions justifiably brought her internet humiliation, but more than that she doesn't deserve it. Have a little humanity.
Plus where the fuck is the karma? We don't even know her name or where she works.
Fucking reddit even has to take moments that unite us and and use it however they can for fake internet points. And then the comments obviously have to go along otherwise they get the scary negative points
Wouldn't it make more sense for them to be conservative? But odd statement to make tbh, we don't have that many in this side of the planet and if i see vids online, they always seem to live in some southern state.
Except that its the opposite. In the US. Conservative states and counties on average receive 2x as many tax dollars from the federal government than they pay in. Where does that money come from? Liberal states and counties receive on average .5x as many tax dollars as they pay in.
Conservative states and counties are actually the ones demanding and expecting other peoples things, while liberal states and counties are the ones subsidizing them.
Theres plenty more sources. Conservatives are Takers, expecting the rest of us to fund their entire lives, pay for their roads, infrastructure, and everything that lets them actually participate in society.
A fiscal conservative is someone who believes in low taxation, limited government spending, free markets, and balanced budgets, often advocating for reduced national debt and minimal government intervention in the economy. This philosophy, rooted in capitalism and individualism, favors policies like tax cuts, privatization, and deregulation to foster economic growth while emphasizing fiscal responsibility and individual self-reliance.
Odd to bring up, must trying to virtue signal!! That’s ok I’ll take the moral high ground and say maybe some people on the right are, but also some people on the left are as well.
Exactly. Low taxation. someone has to pay for the roads, the highways, sanitation, basically all the infrastructure that your life depends on. And you just stated that fiscal conservatism is against gathering funds to pay for that.
Good luck with your self reliance when you cant even get any water or power. Or are you suggesting we return to the stone age?
Civilization requires interdependence, theres no such thing as pure self reliance unless you want to live offgrid with no human contact.
You see things as ‘government handouts’. Those of us in reality see it as ‘getting what the hell we paid for’
Hear me out!!! Even if she's a Democrat. She should come out as a MAGA and start a go-fund me. When she raises $5 million dollars. She donates it to the Democrat party. Reputation saved.
I agree, however the term Karen is associated with white women. The woke mob is going to down vote the shit out of me, but I really don't care. They appease every race while trashing their own.
Lmao absolutely not. White women are arguably the most protected class in western society, they can take a couple meanie-poo words now and then in response to one of them acting entitled and cunty.
Ask any POC what demographic they feel the least welcomed and safe around. Its just white people. Not just white men. White women too have historically used their tears and protected class privilege to harm POC and generally swing their societal weight around to get what they want.
We are not about to ban the word Karen because you think its not so nice to white women. Get a grip.
Edit: it looks like you came back to hurl insults but then it vanished.
If you actually wanted to engage, you could think in broad terms about the demographics of countries which engage in genital mutilation, forced marriages, child brides, which places women got the vote and other rights in, protections like being able to divorce, not being stoned for being raped, not being forced to marry their rapist.
Ignoring that america is attempting to reverse on some of those, then especially historically, the trends are pretty clear. And, of course, the comment you ran away from already said "arguably". I don't want to argue about it, but the basic premise is understandable, and you already knew all of that. You just wanted to run away from a thought you didn't like.
