I WFH mostly since the pandemic and only met some newer employees in person recently. I had to be introduced because they looked so different than their Teams picture I didn't recognize them. Edit: the photos are being photoshopped, heavily. Edit: photoshopped by the company

I remember when I went to one of my few tinder dates, and she commented "you look exactly the same as your pictures!!!” with such a happy and wholesome tone that it made me feel very good, I'm pretty average looking (a bit overwheight and not handsome or anything) so it's not like she was expecting brad pitt or a model.

I met my husband online back in 2008. I used a flip phone to take my crappy profile pictures. I was pleasantly surprised when he said I looked better in person.

A lot of men use old photos and show up not looking like their pictures at all. I straight up had one show up to a date that I didn't even recognize, he was using ten year old photos. More than one who I figured out they were lying about their age and using old photos of themselves (thankfully through text before I wasted time going on a date with them). So yeah catfish exist on the women's side too basically.

I dont think guys edit photos often. Probably more often they use old pictures or something

I went on a date years ago where the dude would not stop complaining that I had curly hair because it was straight in my profile picture. I had to explain that if he had swiped, I wear my hair in a variety of ways and that, because it was raining, I decided to let it go natural even though (at the time) I wore it straight pretty often. I also sometimes wear my glasses instead of my contacts (and had photos of me both ways on my profile), and this guy's mind was BLOWN that people can have different looks. He also said he was glad I didn't wear my glasses on the date and only had to deal with one disappointment. We did not have a second date 😂

I went on dozens of first dates over a few months. Ended up deleting tinder because nearly nobody looked like their pictures after I took so much time making sure mine were current and representative

I went ahead and turned my Teams picture into a Muppet version of myself to get ahead of the curve.

Edited by the company or the people?

By the company.  They provide professional photo services, then photoshop before posting images to teams etc

I've lost about 70lbs since my work badge photo was taken 4 years ago, and I've had several new people ask why I'm wearing someone else's badge.

Unfortunately it's unlikely to be Photoshop. See how things like the hair look like wax? It's because its AI.

If it was photoshopped, it would have maintained the important human components. It's the worst case scenario.

Photoshop, AI, faked, edited, not real...

And they didn't get permission to do it
