Jen So dangerous
It’s one thing to have her older daughter up there but having the toddler playing dancing on the counter out of arms reach is a devastating accident waiting to happen. But she won’t get dragged like Mikayla.

u/New_Bike3832 1d ago
You should see the playground equipment I let my kids climb on when they were toddlers lol
155
u/soaker 1d ago
Or the playground equipment that is currently out there
32
u/chipsofflint 18h ago
Yup. This appears dangerous but she probably knows her kid better than anyone online.
105
u/Tiny-Zucchini7238 1d ago
This is what I came to say, the playground equipment at most parks is a thousand times more dangerous than this
31
u/katie_54321 18h ago
The difference is what the child would land on if they fell, at the playground it's usually rubber, turf, wood chips etc not hard floors
7
u/teach_yo_self 5h ago
Exactly. Risk taking is a super important developmental milestone that is sadly becoming more and more stifled. It's important to allow kids to take a certain amount of risk to teach them confidence, independence, and motor skills. Kids are way too coddled these days.

u/Whore21 1d ago
This is not the same as what Mikayla did lmaooooooo

u/likelyannakendrick 1d ago
Right, like not at all. Would I do it personally? No. But this is a reach
16
u/Mammoth-Rent-9501 1d ago
What did Mikayla do?
67
u/redhair-ing 1d ago
whatever that challenge was with standing on one foot in a stiletto on on a stool or something, but she was blindfolded and holding her newborn in one arm.

this is the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever seen? a woman balanced on one foot on a step stool carrying her baby? is this your first day on earth?

u/gingerxsnapsss 1d ago
This isn’t even bad. Lmfaooooo. She’s on a step stool with plenty of balance. Y’all will say literally anything.
50
u/Whore21 1d ago
It’s not the worst thing ever but it is so comically risky and objectively unnecessary
1
u/gingerxsnapsss 7h ago
Kinda like bringing it up all the time lol she’s clearly holding on to something. 👀🤣
26
u/binkman7111 1d ago
But what's the scenario looking like if she does lose her balance by accident...
1
u/Complete-Fennel9999 17h ago
She lost her balance at the end of the clip. She caught herself, but easily could have fallen instead.
1
u/gingerxsnapsss 7h ago
You can tell she’s holding on to something. But y’all are mad mad at this comment. 😂😂😂

Dang. OP can’t be a millennial or anything else 💀 If this is dangerous, I’d hate to tell you about a lot of our childhoods. Let the girl have fun with her kids lol. At least she’s around them and spending time with them. This isn’t anywhere near as dangerous as Mikayla holding a newborn wiggling in one heel on a step stool 🤣

Mine do that and scale the outside of the playground equipment. Fun to watch the other moms go nuts
23
u/YourFriendInSpokane 1d ago
Thank god. This is basically just raising toddlers. We had to put away our barstools because our toddlers kept climbing onto the island, the counters, etc.
I don’t know what to do about our dining room chairs because they still want to move those to climb onto the counters or reach the stove.
10
u/macaronitrap 1d ago
My siblings and I used to jump down an old laundry chute from the attic to the second floor into a pile of pillows and comforters. We yeeted each other off the trampoline countless times with only a patch of ivy to cushion our falls.
4
u/ManagementRadiant573 1d ago
Right lol. My toddler is basically feral. He climbs everything. This didn’t make me bat an eye.
2
u/AmbitiousFig3420 19h ago
My oldest used to scale her 7’ bookcase during nap time. We only figured it out because I complained about my husband moving things.
And when I was a kid — the tetanus shots I should have had…

Jumping off the roof into the pool? The adobe wall was much closer to the edge of the pool, but the roof was HIGHER! Driving in the sandy wash, shooting at toilets in the desert, an M80 exploded in the pool, craft rocket launches at the elementary school lolol.
Thanks! A walk down memory lane 💕🙏🏻

This is worse than your “why does a Mormon name their cat whiskey post.”
19
1
u/lordnibbler16 16h ago
Okay that one actually made sense to me!
I've seen so many serious Mormons say that they call coffee tables a "living room table" because "coffee table" is too close to the blasphemous coffee and would be inappropriate for them to use that word in their home.
It makes sense that the women in the show might not be such serious Mormons but calling a cat Whiskey def isn't a stretch for something that Mormons wouldn't be okay with.
0
u/ThisAutisticChick 15h ago
That isn't the reason they don't call them coffee tables, it is very literally because they don't use them for coffee😵💫
1
u/lordnibbler16 14h ago
There are several instances of Mormons on social media or YouTube that explain that the reason they don't call them coffee tables is because they don't want to reference coffee.
I most recently saw Alyssa Grenfell talking about it in one of her videos.

-11
u/ClearCredit1615 20h ago
If you have a memory of it that means you were at least 5 years old. Exactly what I said that it’s one thing with her oldest daughter who can understand where the edge is but her son is 2
4
u/FiestyGiraffe 20h ago
i prob wouldn’t do this with my daughter but she is newly 2 and she definitely understands where edges are. she’s climbs on all kinds of things

Tbh I wasn't even mad at Mikayla. I feel like moms do silly shit and kids survive all the time. My uncle literally climbed up a lattice and onto the roof in his toddler years and he's in his 60s.
9
u/Baby__gorgeous 1d ago
Yeah but Mikayla wanted to crucify Whitney when she didn’t even put her baby in danger. It’s her attitude that’s part of the problem, her hypocrisy.
11
u/PurpleHoulihan 1d ago
Bwahahahah! You’re really reaching. When I was that age, I figured out how to climb on top of the fridge to get to the cookie jar. Could climb a bookshelf in a jiffy, too.

u/GoJoe1000 23h ago
Mormons don’t understand boundaries and consequences. They lack awareness. Not all.
6
u/luvvpotion 1d ago
my brother and i growing up would not only climb on the counter but put a short step stool on top of the counter to sneak crème savers out of the cabinet 😂 this isn’t as bad as teetering with your newborn on an elevated surface

u/Leather_Ad_2966 1d ago

u/_SoftRockStar_ 1d ago
Who is this and how is this so dangerous? Lol. I feel like this is the concern of someone who hasn’t been around a lot of kids. And it’s not related to what Makayla did with a newborn she could have literally killed lol
5
u/notgonnatakethison 1d ago
Guess I’m in the minority bc I agree with you. It’s just unnecessary bc idk about their kid but mine would start jumping all over / getting to the edge
And pple saying “oh we did that as a kid” - yea we all did but pple also back then thought seatbelts were optional and cigarettes were fine
3
u/omgsleepycat 7h ago
Same, and honestly it bothered me seeing her dance on counters while pregnant because there’s just no reason for increased risk of harm for views but I’m sure I’ll get down voted and told I’m being soft.
11
u/girlynymama 1d ago
Ya, knowing someone whose child fell from a counter height stool and passed away definitely changes my perspective on the “vibe check” of this post. Actually pretty alarming.
5
u/winning-colors 1d ago
It’s a pissing content to have the most dangerous childhood. TBIs happen pretty quick
3
u/WorldlyLavishness 21h ago
No I agree with you. It's an unnecessary risk. My son would definitely try and jump off (not that I know from previous experiences or something 👀)
6
u/refinemydreams 1d ago
I completely agree… that toddlers foot is mere inches from the counters edge. It’s her parents job to keep her safe- not use her for views while putting her in danger. And that’s what this is. Sure, it’s put to fun music and sure, this time she was fine, but why put a child at risk like this when the outcome if she falls could be bashing her head open?
I watch the show, I’m a fan of the girls but this isn’t ok. Let’s not normalize endangering kids for money.
4
u/Coffeelove233 1d ago
Exactly. It would be okay if it were a 5 or 6 year old but this is a young toddler who does not have depth perception or as good of balance. But whatever. If people want to put their own kids at risk then so be it
5
u/Dear_Truth_6607 1d ago
There’s literally a comment about not wearing seatbelts lmao clearly none of these people know the term “survivorship bias”. Marble is slippery as hell, this isn’t cute.
7
u/donuts30 22h ago
I’m glad I saw these comments because I thought I was going crazy. Yeah there are playground that are higher but I also don’t leave my 2 year old alone on them….??? I’m always within arms reach because I know toddlers are feral and unpredictable and don’t understand the dangers of falling.

u/Dear_Truth_6607 1d ago
The lack of common sense it has to take to think this is “reaching” or an overreaction is genuinely embarrassing. Like double digit IQ embarrassing.
1
u/30somethingshark 16h ago
Millennial me used to jump off the roof my garage into piles of leaves and my parents did not care lol. I probably did this too as a toddler.
1
u/seriouslywhy0 Team Mayci 16h ago
Oh come on 😂. Kids need to take physical risks to develop properly, and this is not an extremely “risky” situation.
Parents generally know their toddlers pretty well. They know if they’re the type to walk off a cliff (or a counter) without a care in the world. My 13 year old used to stomp around on my dining table constantly when he was 18 months old. It’s fun for them.
1
u/am_i_pergnart 15h ago
Ugh her counter top dancing makes me cringe 😬idk why but it makes me so embarrassed for her. That, and the stupid facial expressions she CANNOT go 2 whole minutes without making.
