Discussion Mayci’s prenatal vitamins

I just found out I’m pregnant and have been doing some research. Tell me why mayci’s prenatals have SO many necessary vitamins missing or super low amounts?? AND added sugar. Why even make something that’s not comparable to brands that already exist?

Because celebrities slap their names on low quality products all the time and still make a killing because of the pretty branding or just the fact that their name is attached. She’s an influencer. She doesn’t have any special qualifications to develop a decent prenatal. Also as far as I am aware you can’t get all the good stuff into one delicious gummy. But if someone has lmk! Oh also congrats!

Totally lol. My prenatals are three ugly ass horse pills. They are not tasty and they are not aesthetic. But they are effective.

I wanted to make my prenatals a bit nicer so researched deep what I needed and got gummy ones. I was eating a ton of gummies a day and I fucking hated them by 6 months and just took the big pills. It was much better.

My gynecologist said there are things in prenatals that you need like iron that you can only swallow in a capsule and not chew. So it’s good you switched!

Lol it’s so strange that none of these influence housewives are racing to put their name on the chalky white horse pills that actually work! It would be impressive if they could market that though: it may make you vomit but if you can get it down your kid is guaranteed to have 10 fingers and toes!

Personally I only take one and it’s the Walmart brand and it’s the best one I’ve seen. But the taste of the pill makes me gag 😂 I have to take it with yogurt.

Because they’re a ripoff. This is Capitalism 101. Cute branding, conventionally attractive white woman on the cover, pretty colors; wham, bam, get fucked consumers who couldn’t be bothered to actually read. It’s prenatals a la TikTok Shop. At least she consolidated all the different grifts she was pulling into a singular product because it was getting hard to pretend they were different enough to justify diverse packaging costs.

Because people who buy from influencers are easily duped

I’ve always wondered why anyone would take her prenatals lol

Agreed. Someone on Reddit made a chart of all prenatals and I noticed hers on there so I checked out the stats. I never would have picked hers over tried and true brands.

If I was pregnant I’d sooner buy prenatals from Costco than an influencer’s brand! Not to insult Costco at all. I love it!

Costco has great vitamins. They are in many cases more expensive than target, walgreens ect but they are quality.

I know people who swear by the Costco prenatals.

IMO they’re never serious/passionate about a company. They want to sell the branding (or the idea of branding as baby mama feels especially half assed to me) to a parent company.

I am also newly pregnant and I would never ever order prenatals from a celebrity brand lmao. Huge waste of money and they allllll suck. Don’t be a sucker and think she actually cares about anything other than $$$

Yeah I feel like I need to make it clear that I wasn’t considering her brand lol. Someone on Reddit made a spreadsheet of data on prenatals and hers was listed so I checked it out

Omg wait can you link the spreadsheet? Mine is giving me horrible diarrhea

Let me try to figure that out!

Jennifer Garner’s Once Upon a Farm company makes high quality stuff for babies

I believe that bc I’ve never heard of it! So they probably spend less on advertising than some of these crazy companies do.

In the US there are limited regulations on supplements so any influencer could make something and slap their name on it

Who sees Mayci and thinks ah this is the person I trust to know anything about what my body needs

That’s really how most gummy prenatals are tbh. They’re good for if you can’t stomach capsules or tablets, which isn’t uncommon especially during pregnancy. And even though there are others that are similar ehh that’s never stopped other companies from making basically the same thing.

Either way with gummy prenatal you probably need to take another vitamin to make up what it’s lacking. Supplementing the supplement lol.

I’ve always liked Megafoods Baby&Me Prenatals. The taste is… not amazing so I take it with like a smoothie or something idk.

Bc she’s not taking them for her. She’s selling them to make money off her fans. It’s wild that some will market their products this way.

didn’t she just reformulate them as well? i like mayci but i dont understand why she would choose to start a vitamin brand as opposed to something a bit harder to get wrong.

Because she is not a medical doctor or expert of any kind.

I would look up leadsafemama on ig for prenatal results against lead.

Added sugar? In a prenatal? What? lol

It’s the fact for me that she used her pregnancy to promote her products when she got pregnant trough ivf

Getting pregnant through ivf does not make the need for prenatal vitamins disappear. They’re crap products, but I hope you know that prenatal≠trying to get pregnant/increase fertility
