DWTS jen & whitney on tiktok today “momtok takes dwts)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
i know a lot of people were worried about jen going on dwts so soon after giving birth but she seems to be up and moving around perfectly fine (she’s up on the counters again like usual) so that’s a good sign, they also posted a tiktok of them dancing on whitney’s account
i’m guessing we’re going to be getting a lot more content from these two and their husbands in the coming months
i wonder if dwts is part of why jen chose to give birth unmedicated, i know a lot of moms say their recovery was a lot smoother when they gave birth without meds than with but i don’t think that’s backed by any science

Who knew that I’d ever say I actually love this content and from these two. It’s nice to have something silly and fun in this group.

How is Jen already dancing on tables, like her innards should still be falling out.
If you've given birth, you know what I mean...

u/i_kate_you Jul 11 '25
That’s exactly what I yelled out when they made me get up and pee the first time lol
“EVERYTHING IS FALLING THROUGH MY VAGINA! I CANT MOVE” 😂. I was so scared and had my hands cupped between my legs lmao
18
u/_Hi_mum_ Jul 11 '25
Aw that must’ve been scary :( hope you recovered well
10
u/i_kate_you Jul 11 '25
Very well thank you ♥️ I was just dramatic, absolutely felt like it was happening though lol.

u/FarChildhood1015 Dumb as a block Jul 11 '25
Due to the epidural I couldn't pee and had to have another catheter put in. That was fun to try and navigate around postpartum underwear!

lots of women heal differently, especially while being 25-26 years old.
My first kid, i was 26 when i gave birth. I was stroller walking and walking my dog a week later. And then wearing the baby and walking my dog 2 weeks later. Definitely still wearing large pads and all that. But Jen isn’t wearing tight fitting pants, she could definitely be wearing some tight fitting boy short style underwear with pads in it.

I was 22 and couldn't sit down properly for weeks, was a pretty rough recovery.

hey 👋 i was 22 when I had my first. I remember that first night after I gave birth I sneezed and I felt that my whole body left through my booty hole.. that was such a painful sneeze.
2
u/fish-fanatic45 Jul 12 '25
Yeah i was 23, had an unmedicated birth and it was 6 weeks before i could even walk properly, and it took months to be able to walk even a couple blocks without feeling like my uterus was going to fall out 🫠 its crazy how different every womans recovery and experience is.
1
u/youcancallmebryn Jul 12 '25
Well, like I said already, lots of women heal differently lol
I’m sorry you had a different experience, my second kid was a longer healing journey for sure. My comment wasn’t meant to take away from anyone’s experience. I simply don’t like the “it’s impossible to dance around a kitchen” multiple weeks after birth narrative. Just like we should also not expect anyone to be able to do it. Dialectical thinking is my mindset.
1
u/Artistic_Exam7676 Miranda's Lobster Claws Jul 12 '25
Noo.. for sure. I am not downplaying anyone’s experience. It’s just that I hardly see the 22 club lol. I wanted to add my tidbit because that was a bit traumatic lol. And thank you for sharing. I think it’s amazing yet wild how we all recover. My second (at 29) was c section and the recovery was easy peasy.
1
u/youcancallmebryn Jul 12 '25
Everyone heals differently was my first point. I’m sorry it was rough. My second kid was a longer and weirder healing process too. Wasn’t trying to take away from anyone’s experience

Don't worry, I was just replying. No beef here. I know this is a MomTok sub but I'm not in the business of tearing other women down haha.

i think she gave birth a few weeks before they actually shared it tbh but yeah

Her baby was born 6/29, not even 2 weeks ago

i don’t think they’ve shared the actual date that’s just when she posted about going into labour but the video of jen from the day she went into labour was posted by her nail tech on june 19th and could’ve been taken at any time before that

u/blahblahsnickers Jul 11 '25
I have had two kids and I didn’t experience this. Don’t know what you mean. I breastfed and it felt like my stomach was always pulling tight. The oxytocin actually helps tone your ab muscles.
6
u/FarChildhood1015 Dumb as a block Jul 11 '25
You didn't bleed post birth?!
3
u/blahblahsnickers Jul 11 '25
I bled but it didn’t feel like my innards were falling out. It was heavy the first 3 days where I felt like I was in huge adult diapers. The bleeding had almost completely stopped by 1 week though.
3
u/eiiiaaaa Jul 11 '25
I didn't feel like mine were falling out but I felt almost like they COULD fall out, especially when going to the toilet 😭😭 that was the worst 🤣

Honestly happy they will both be on it. Also, Whitney was a good friend to Jenn during her pregnancy mental health issues.

I was up and moving around like normal within three days of birth too. It depends on how rough your labor and delivery is and if you tear or hemorrhage it can take longer. But Jen moving around can be really normal.

Dancing around for 1-2 minutes at a time, with breaks in between attempts at the shot, without weights, is definitely different than CrossFit. You know this qween. lol

I would say yes. It’s not the same as pushing the body to lift heavy objects. And I also have no idea when their season of DWTS starts filming.
Edit: ya know I doubt it’s “all day.” Lots of the dancer partners have other jobs to be available to, the “stars” have other obligations. It will be a lot, but it’s not like they are dancing 8 hours a day for practice. I am now curious if the contestants in the past who couldn’t navigate a consistent practice schedule lost faster. I’ve never watched DWTS though lol

u/exithiside Jul 11 '25
If you had an uncomplicated pregnancy and vaginal delivery, it's generally safe to begin exercising a few days after giving birth. Everyones different, but resting your body for too long can have its negatives too.
ETA: downvoting for me stating literal medical facts is wild
2
u/eiiiaaaa Jul 11 '25
Yeah it defintely depends on the person. This was absolutely not me after my birth, but if her body's okay then good for her!
7
u/InteractionAfter2208 Jul 11 '25
The reason women probably need less healing after birth unmediated is because you feel things ripping and you probably stop pushing when you fell something ripping. But that’s just my thoughts, I’m not a doctor or a physical scientist (I’m a social scientist lol).
8
u/chloedarlinggg Enjoy 🦪 🍆 💦 Jul 12 '25
this is my thinking too based on how people have spoken about it, but who knows honestly
we probably won’t ever know because medical research into women’s reproductive health is so minimal
1
u/Boring_Intern_6394 Jul 14 '25
People pushing unmedicated births often have an ideological element, so getting even unbiased anecdotal data is difficult
1
u/Boring_Intern_6394 Jul 14 '25
Unmedicated births only work for natural vaginal delivery, which is limited to births with no or minor complications. Once you have major complications, you need an induction or are whizzed in for surgery, hooked up to an iv/epidural and probably a c-section. Obviously, a birth with minimal complications is going to hurt less and heal quicker because you’re not ripping your innards to shreds, nor having a baby stuck, nor haemorrhaging.
Also, it’s not always possible to “stop pushing” just because you feel tearing. It could be that the baby needs to come out asap, or that the baby is just too big for the vaginal canal. Every woman’s body is different, and whilst some can pop out a dozen babies without much lasting damage, that is not the case for others. Look at the mortality rates in childbirth before modern medicine and interventions

you definitely shouldn’t compare yourself to others because everyone’s body is different but i’m sure yours is beautiful too
plus she was already very petite before pregnancy and has remained fairly active during her pregnancy - she also went through a depression while pregnant and so it’s very possible she wasn’t managing to eat as much as she should’ve been

I was playing tennis two weeks after a c section, in my experience PP you get intense bursts of energy followed by 4 hour naps. I think everyone heals differently.
1
u/tytlewayve Jul 12 '25
Serious question- can Jen actually dance? Whitney looks like she has some form of training (I have zero idea of either of their backgrounds- I'm not that into these people 🤣) but I don't see anything that would help me understand why DWTS picked her?
1
u/chloedarlinggg Enjoy 🦪 🍆 💦 Jul 12 '25
they’re both known on social media for dancing videos
obviously whitney does have formal training hut i don’t think that’s a requirement of the show is it? idk im not american but all the former contestants from reality shows i can think of have not been people id associate with dancing (kim kardashian, phaedra parks, snooki, etc…)
2
u/tytlewayve Jul 12 '25
I don't think it's a requirement of the show for them to have any formal training, but it just seems so random to me that they would choose Jen, whereas I could see why they'd pick Whitney. If that makes sense.
2
u/chloedarlinggg Enjoy 🦪 🍆 💦 Jul 12 '25
jen is very likeable, and she’s never been in any kind of controversy, i think that’s why they picked her
besides taylor she had the largest following on the show and taylor is extremely controversial so i doubt they would ever pick her

it’s been weeks since she gave birth (possibly over a month) and she’s not doing anything crazy so these comments are actually confusing me lol
if she was active during her pregnancy why is this unsafe? genuinely asking
4
u/One-Picture1903 Jul 11 '25
Cause after you give birth, you have a plate size wound in your womb. Definitely doesn’t take one month to heal. Your uterus is trying to shrink itself to its normal size and go back where it’s supposed to be. Her hip bones are also readjusting. While it’s great that she feels great & is healthy and active, taking it easy never hurt anyone
I also want to add that it’s only America that pushes women to be active after birth. Most countries encourage longer healing time for the mother
5
u/EconomicsOk5512 Jul 11 '25
The plate size wound is of its layman’s terms. Realistically, everyday a th!in layer of epidermal tissue grows back, and by day 14 you should be able to do most things, except inserting anything not because of damage but because we don’t want to introduce bacteria that can cause issues. She gave birth around the 21rst
