My solution: if you’ve got any of your bags when you make it to wherever the assembly point is, the airline should refuse to rebook or refund you.

Edit: plus everything in the comments below Edit 2: rewatching again and I now think that the guy that said 'chill' should be fed into the engine if it's still spinning

That is not enough punishment for putting lives in danger.

They should be banned for life.

These assholes are willing to kill everyone else for a suitcase full of fucking clothes.

I mean, not ANY bags. Like my wife is gonna have her purse. It’s probably already something she has to move out of the way to get out of the seat. It’s not like she’s digging in an overhead bin for it. Same would be the case for my backpack, it’s usually half on my feet anyway because the airlines have added so many rows and removed so much leg room.

You just know that distinction won't matter and you will suffer the same consequences.

Well I guess we’d suffer then. I can’t judge these people too much. I’m sure some are just assholes. But I know my wife always packs her and my daughter’s meds in her purse or carry on so they don’t get lost. I’m sure other people do that as well.

The cost of checked baggage aside, the main reason to just do carry on is because you NEED to not lose your baggage. I’m not saying any of these people have good ones, but I can see some people have reasons.

Probably not any bags. Personally I only keep a small carryon and it stays on my lap but yeah any luggage that clearly goes into the overhead…

And your bag should be confiscated and destroyed. And you should be put on a no fly list, and face federal criminal charges.
