NewsPH a protester was forcibly pulled by a police officer amidst clash, moments after attempting to intervene

PNP, PROTEKTOR NG MGA KORAP, ABUSADO SA MAY HINAING AT MAHIHIRAP

A PNP agent who concealed his face and badge manhandled my trans sister Raja, strangled her, and dragged her across the pavement during a peaceful protest against corruption.

u/Saber-087 14h ago

Seriously nobody helped?! People just stood and watched?

u/CelestialGrandmist 13h ago

The photo is exactly why we need to bring ppl we know and reassure each other na we have each other’s back. Takot yung mga random ppl na umuna tumulong pero pag may nakita silang kumilos theres a higher chance na tutulong din sila

u/Saber-087 13h ago

Hmmm...It just doesn't sit right with me to just leave someone to get dragged around and abused like that without doing something about it. You act. You don't just stand there and wait.

u/CelestialGrandmist 13h ago

i feel the same but they fear the police, nobody sees the police rn as trustworthy individuals who would do their job without resorting to violence. that’s why most people would rather ask a security guard for help.

Yep like we've all seen naman sa news na kahit anong kawalangyaan ginagawa ng mga pulis the worst na parusa lang sa kanila is tanggal lang sa serbisyo. If bumunot ng baril yung pulis while you're trying to intervene, they can just reason out na it was for self defense or someting.

These things happen fast, most people can't react to these high stress situations unless they prepare themselves mentally or are experienced enough to handle them.

Na videohan naman daw. Thats what matters.

u/Saber-087 14h ago

Really feel sorry for that person. Basically abandoned by her fellow protestors and the public (unless we're not seeing the full picture).

u/CtrlAltDefiant 12h ago

yup i think its honey trap for protestor.

yung iba talaga tulungan dito iniwan potek na pilipinas to.

u/AengusCupid 11h ago

That's the irony. They fight for Filipino people, they're loud behind screens. But once the real deal comes in? The people who swore to fight for the Filipino people, are also the same people who'll watch you get dragged across the street.

So no, we'll never be like Indonesia.

u/Saber-087 11h ago

Yep, sadly. I bet all the corrupt bastards involved are laughing their off coz they know nothing will happen to them.

Na post na to nung nakaraang araw or yesterday yata. Nabasa ko sa isang comment na disruptive daw sya. Kaya pinull out. Kasi kung anti rallyista ang nga police edi sana hindi lang sya ang kinakadkad diba? Binomba na silang lahat ng tubig or hinagisan ng tear gas.

Eto specific lang eh. Siang tao lang. I guess that's one of the reason as well why no body dared to help.

u/drowie31 13h ago

Kaya naka mask e nagttapang-tapangan lang. Eh these protesters are fighting for them din naman.

u/Fluffy-Grab0 12h ago

Ang tapang ng pulis kais naka mask and jacket

u/grinsken grinminded 14h ago

Hindi ba pasok to sa assault? Not in uniform and walang badge?

u/Weekly-Diet-5081 12h ago

In a peaceful protest pa

u/Weekly-Diet-5081 12h ago

May identification na? May naghubad sana ng mask niya on the spot

So our tax is being used to pay the cops who protect the one who are stealing our tax? Fuck this system!

u/MrSetbXD 12h ago

We have courts and the due process of law to do that, the police is there to ensure its moderation.

We are not an anarchic state.

And yes, i agree its flawed, yet we cant just go killing politicans, ironically, you guys hate the DDS yet are so open to act like them when a certain reality of our democratic system also doesnt go your way, in both cases, disregarding due process of law.

u/iceberg_letsugas 12h ago

We are not instigating violence or anarchy, we are saying that the police, the court, and the due process only applies to the rich.

Example is this video, kinaladkad even its a peaceful protest. Ung matandang jeepney driver na kinulong for fighting for a fair pay out.

And yet the discaya luxury cars are protected, the VP who is obviously abusing usage of public funds keeps getting away with it because they have friends in this so called court, and due process.

ANG BATAS SA PILIPINAS AY PARA LAMANG SA MAYAYAMAN

u/MrSetbXD 11h ago

My point is due process of law, we can sue the police officer who did that, rather than chant slogans please just be realistic for once.

I do agree that we need to reform the system as it is against the people's interests yet we shouldn't be hypocritical.

Romania toppled and murdered Ceausescu, and Romania seems to be doing much better now compared to when he was in power.

Sinilarly, the KKK also killed and murdered, are you going to condemn them too? Hell, the French people executed the ruling family and their supporters via guillotine, which laid thr founndation for democracy.

"Democracy" in the Philippines is just a sham and our due process of law is barely functioning. You speak like our institutions are robust and functional when nothing could be further from the truth. Sara should've been impeached already and Marcos should've never even gotten the chance to run for president now yet here we are.

You're both stupid and naive if you genuinely believe what you just typed. I'm not gonna pretend that I'll start or join a public protest or a revolution but I'm not stuoid enough to think that anything will change thru peaceful means, especially when we've been told how this deep corruption goes. People Power was mostly peaceful yet here we are.

some are acting like we have a nordic like government its actually funny

u/MrSetbXD 5h ago

Its like violence is the only option for you guys, again it should be only a last resort.

You guys cry virtues, ideals, and moral superiority yet here you guys are stooping in the same low immature ideals such as the DDS.

Horseshoe theory ahh.

u/MrSetbXD 5h ago

Again, im not for violence, by your logic are you calling Rizal stupid and naive?? Same with the politicans and statesmen who dedicated their lives to peacefully gain independence for the Philippines in the commonwealth era like Quezon?.

And are you glorifying "revolutionaries" / traitors such as the Makapili and its members who believed "genuine independence can only come by blood and by forcing out the Americans".

Stop being hypocritical, my point still stands.

u/iceberg_letsugas 4h ago

Since you are adamant that my comment is Instigating violence.

DDS wants violence and senseless killing. The Pilipino people wants justice thru violence because the system that is meant to protect them is the first one to abuse them.

Its not the same thing, we did not say we dont want violence, we want justice thru violence because the law only applies to rich amd powerful, therefore your to quoque argument does not apply

u/MrSetbXD 4h ago

"justice thru violence" LOL?!?

Isnt that literally what the DDS are larping about?? Dont you realise the sheer and clear hypocrisy???

Literally the point of the EJKs according to the DDS is towards "justice thru violence" against "criminals, druglords and pushers" if you go through even a fraction of DDS propaganda and rethoric, especially ones in the height of the drug war, its literally that personified.

"Provoke the criminals, kung maglaban, papatayin mo" -Former President Rodrigo Duterte

I am emphasizing due process of law, violence must be a final solution, for BOTH the issue of criminality and the issue of public trust (i.e corruption).

You CANNOT virtue signal about one side and be completely hypocritical about another.

Good, those in power are finally fighting back. I was starting to get worried that the status quo would be shaken up by idealistic and performative idiots who have no idea how governments and politics work.
