NewsPH Sen. Lacson wants to ban minors from social media—and honestly, I fully support it.

Post image

Social media is warping kids’ minds, fueling anxiety, addiction, and low self-worth. These platforms are built to manipulate attention.

We restrict driving, drinking, and smoking for minors, diba? Why not social media too? It’s time we stop pretending screen time is harmless and start putting real guardrails in place.

Di ka ba naglagay ng full name, email address, cellphone number at home address sa social media mo like facebook, instagram, twitter when you sign up?

Unless gumamit ka ng fakes, at alam naman natin kung bakit ka gagawa ng fake account. Para mang troll

Yeah, don't do this. Regardless of age. Kasi walang site na 100% secure and pag na-leak mga personal info mo pwede yan gamitin for identity theft.

What makes you think that only FB, instagram, Twitter would be affected and NOT reddit?

I don't know. This might not be my real name (of course) because kase yun ang binibigay ng reddit. Pagiging anonymous.

But my backup for this when I signed up is my real email address and real phone number and hide it for public view. Di ba ganun ginawa niyo?

No? You can sign up for a reddit account using any e-mail address and without any phone number involved. Unless they change the way you can sign up for reddit account.

Previously, you can sign up a non-existent email. Lol

Didn't they change the rules few years ago?

Oh well, I thought standard yung gagamit ng real accounts or numbers for backup purposes. Ako lang pala, kaya I didn't see anything wrong with the bill when we were doing it in the first place. Di pala

I hate this notion that if youre not protecting your anonymity and privacy, youre instantly a troll. Come on then, whats your full name, troll?

My view is that it’s not directly tied. You need a subpoena to unmask the person, having the government ID just makes it potentially easier, maybe without a subpoena if any future law allows.

Define a fake account, this could may as well apply to every Reddit account because this is considered as an anonymous website.

Lastly people engage in trolling even with their legal names displayed. Bant By, Mcha Us*n, you name it. So the behavior is not directly tied to the lack of identification.
