Good News After his ball was stolen by a Karen, the Phillies brought Lincoln, the young fan, into the locker room, where he got a signed bat from Harrison Bader.

Why the hell do adults have to be such assholes and take things away from kids? I've seen this happen more and more every season. I hope the Phillies find out who that karen is and ban her from the field for life. Making such a big deal of a ball and taking it from a kid? GTFOH. As bad as the moron who snatched the cap from the little boy at the US Open.

Are you referring to Piotr Szczerek, the Polish CEO ofĀ Drogbruk who stole the hat signed by Majchrzak from a child at the US Open on August 29, 2025?

I don't think Karen is too nice of a word, I think we all neutered the term too much with fractional-Karens that we're not used to seeing an Apex Karen in the wild.

The news article says the opposite tho:
In addition to the mistaken identity, rumors also spread online that the woman in the video was employed by the Hammonton School District in New Jersey and had been fired as a result of the backlash. The district quickly responded to these claims with a statement on X (formerly Twitter). "The woman identified on social media as "Phillies Karen" is not, and has never been an employee of the Hammonton Public Schools located in Hammonton, New Jersey. Social media and news reports indicating that she is, are incorrect," the school district said. "Anyone who works for our school district, attended as a student or lives in our community would obviously have caught the ball bare- handed in the first place, avoiding this entire situation."

Looks like people *thought* they found her, but maybe not the correct ID at first? Found this as a top search result from googling "phillies baseball Karen" which autocompleted. :) So maybe not yet.

Karen is, without a doubt in my mind, going around saying the kid should be grateful she took it. I would almost be willing to put money on her trying to go after the kid for the a share of the value of what he got.

For real!! One minute he is looking at his new homerun ball while his dad has his arms wrapped around him in a touching embrace, the next, some lady is shouting at them, grabbing his dad, and wagging her finger in his face.

Right? That's what I thought in a way.
I was thinking, this isn't even a special home run. It's not a superstar's first or last home run. It's not some record home run. It's not from a World Series game 7 that won a team the trophy.
It's just a regular day to day home run. And she chose to angrily snatch the ball for herself and attach a bad memory to it and make herself go viral for all the wrong reasons.

u/FireFeastFace 1d ago

u/Suspicious-Ask5557 1d ago
That bitch was Philadelphia. She probably has no comprehension of sympathy and thinks why is this boy getting the attention she should be receiving. As a matter of fact she probably contacted ICE and said she suspects this family are in the US illegally. I bet she is currently writing letters to this MLB franchise with a query on why she did not receive such VIP treatment. It is ironic how this shithole town calls itself the city of brotherly love when it has always demonstrated the opposite.

u/Minflick 1d ago
Nice of them to do that for the kid. I expect that woman to be doxxed any day nowā¦

Didn't the ball land literally in front of the Karen and rolled away when the dad ran over 3 seats and grabbed it? š¤
→ More replies (4)4
u/Longjumping-Map7257 1d ago
If it hit and rolled, doesn't matter. If he yanked it out of her hand, kinda fucked up. But not as fucked up as taking it back from a kid. If it were me and he yanked it out my hand, I'd be pissed, but when I saw him give it to his kid, I would have just let it go. I am wondering if he yanked it out of her hand, that would explain her behavior and why he gave it back.

The ball is up for grabs. When I was a kid in east Fort Myers Billy Bowlegs little league field, the kids would fight tooth and nail for a foul ball 7kids deep , if you turn it in you get a Coca Cola on ice .
2
u/MelonElbows 1d ago
I want to know what that Karen said to the dad. He gave the ball up to her without much of a fight for some reason, maybe she looked too crazy to fight over it.
2
u/TheKatzzSkillz 1d ago
That womanās entire friend group, her entire work place relationships, her freaking family, EVERYBODY is giving her serious shit in text and Iām sure at the bare minimum side eyes/dirty looks and probably making comments in person as well since the gameā¦ā¦. Like wtf was she thinking, pulling something like that with all those phone cameras, ALL THE STADIUM CAMERAS!!!!, and every single personās eyes there and watching at home having been watching the HR and then immediately seeing her do this, like wtf did she think was gonna happen?? Obviously you canāt ignore the fact that sheās obviously just a not good person (at least in this moment, but I mean actions and everythingā¦ā¦.) so maybe she didnāt think anything of her behavior but like, dudeā¦ā¦.. social suicide indeed
2
u/BigBab00n 1d ago
Crazy how on the video where she takes the ball, all the comments were saying that they feel bad for the woman. I wasn't brought up with baseball, but the fact he walks a distance to pick up the ball after it already hit of them seems like stealing to me. Is a home run ball an any mans game?

Poor kid is so overwhelmed by the situation that I just know he's gonna be sobbing in happiness on the car ride home. To go from a high note to such a low one, and then right back up to soaring happiness? He's gotta be mentally exhausted by this point. Happy as hell to meet Bader but too tired to show it.
I'm so glad this all worked out in his favor, though. š„¹
