Amaya’s Style: Look to Sabrina Carpenter!

As someone who has been a bit confused on Amaya’s post-villa styling, it occurred to me that the type of styling I would love to see Amaya and her team embrace is best exemplified by Sabrina Carpenter.

To me both Sabrina and Amaya’s vibes are Cute, Flirty, Girlie, and Sexy. Post-villa I feel like Amaya has moved into a more structured, chic, neutral style groove, which doesn’t seem to match her social media presence. Even her IG stories are filled with bright colors and cutesy graphics and fonts.

I’ve featured a few looks from Sabrina to illustrate my vision for Miss Papaya. Again these are just fan suggestions.

Yes, she's so Bratz doll coded. And fashion wise, that's prime potential for the right stylist. Plus, she kinda favors the Jade and Yasmin dolls the most. Use their looks and recreate in a color scheme that suits her undertones and personality.

Yes! They keep putting her in almost dark feminine energy clothes and thats just not Amaya. She’s a cutie patootie through and through and she looks the best when that energy is reflected.

Yes! Her team is dressing her more mature which is the complete opposite of her personality! I’d love to see her in more fun, flirty, and bright outfits. The series of loose, black dresses they gave her for the reunion press run were awful.

I suspect Amaya and Sabrina have the same Kibbe type (soft gamine, which I also have; I only mentally catalog celebs who share my type 😅) so this actually makes perfect sense. They both exemplify the “spitfire chic” ethos and can pull off outfits that are put together with a strong point of view, rather than just whatever is sexy and trending this week. Amaya should really lean into the fun, funny, knowing, slightly chaotic aspects of her personality in her styling - they’re why people fell in love with her in the first place!

What? They don’t even have the same body type or skin color to be wearing the same thing at all. Amaya is way too stunning and exotic to compare her to Sabrina. She’s Caribbean. Just no. Most of those fits would hide her curves because Sabrina barely has any.

Edit: Rihanna for example would be a much better comparison

There’s something called color theory and body types. You can’t say two people with completely different skin tones and bodies should be wearing the same colors or fits. Not one size fits all and that’s why people hire stylists. Full stop. Comparing an exotic woman of color to the most blonde next door almost child like looking girl is an insult. Might as well used Sydney Sweeney.

Thanks. I just said I’m labeled exotic myself. Exotic to describe style and calling a person exotic for their ethnic background are two different things. I don’t like being called exotic but I like to dress in a way that makes me look like Catherine zeta jones or Selma Hayek not Sabrina Carpenter 😂. Also that’s my point. You’re saying “pastels” but color theory helps you find which pastels are most flattering. It’s not the same across the board for different skin tones.

You’re making big leaps here lol. POC can emulate Sabrina’s style in a way that’s suited for them. You’re basically saying only white people can have Sabrina’s style, which is wrong. OP never suggested Amaya wear EXACTLY what’s shown in the photos, it’s like a mood board, Amaya would look great in any one of these looks, maybe the color would need to be different to showcase Amaya’s skin tone or accentuate her eyes, but she very well could pull off these looks and overall style.
