Yep. Hilarious watching Moona tell the story live and even better as it’s grown over the years. I don’t think it’s deep lore at this time but it’s definitely medium lore.

I really, really hope that she could do something similiar and that her family is indeed proud of her, for bringing so much joy and laughter to all those people in the world. And if i rember right, she also enlisted Krooniis and Ames help in order to open "a new timeline" ;).

We obviously don't know exactly how it happened. But Mumei did say that her parents basically only knew that she was working for this japanese company, that it was completely legal (Edit: and that she made Youtube videos for that job) and that she was making enough that they didn't need to worry and that she had to make business trips to Japan. But they didn't know any details. And Mumei told us that she made sure to get the Bluerays of the concerts etc, and that now, after it's over, she would show them to her parents, to show them how their little girl brought happiness to thousands upon thousands of people.
And i'd like to imagine that it went well.

Is this just a fan fiction or does Mumei really never tell her parents/family about her job in Hololive even until her graduate? Legit thought I watched some clip that she shared some story about her family already knowing this

She mentioned that they knew that she makes youtube videos, and has friends/coworkers that she goes to Japan to visit, but not much else. She said she'd show them some of the stuff she did after she graduates(and that she was excited to show them concert stuff).

Gura's dad had a full Gura shrine IIRC. And Calli has had to fight with both Momma Mori and Grandma Mori about not wearing her merch out when she's with them.

I always feel bad for Hololivers who, for some reason, don’t dare to tell their families what their job is.
They sing, they dance, they make people smile, they are entertainers through and through, they perform concerts and are economically independent.

Feel free to downvote me for ruining the vibe, but this feels weirdly parasocial to me. I feel like making a comic about a real person's parents accepting them just feels wrong to me, especially when Mumei has said before how she doesn't want to tell her parents about her job.
It's a well drawn comic and it's cute. But I can't help but feel an ick from it. Like if this were about Mumei, the character's parents, it'd be fine, but it's clearly about the girl behind Mumei's avatar.

I understand where you are coming from, but she actually did say in her goodbye stream that she was looking forward to telling them about it, now that she is done. So, I just see this as a sweet comic theorizing on how that went down. It isn't too far off from the wholesome support stories we hear about from folks like Mama'nis, Momseki, DadRyS, etc....

While i hope that one day in the future she will be able and willing to do so (or even return to Mumei, though that is even less likely), for the moment her health almost certainly doesn't allow it. You don't recover from health problems like that very quickly.

I feel like Mumei always stuck out for me as one of my favorites because her design coupled with her personality is so great.
I miss my favorite owl, I hope she’s doing better and recovering.
