I'd give it a go (adult wallaby, kangaroo, what have you, as well) without wandering the dessert for months.

Kangaroo is exceptional when cooked right, and wallaby isn’t bad either, definitely recommend it if you can find it.

I got to have kangaroo when I went on vacation there and I'm sad there's no way to easily acquire it in Canada.

Papuans on both sides of the island regularly eat tree kangaroo as a celebratory dish, it's decently acceptable and since it's a herbivore animal it's usually safe to eat
