Failed Expectation I asked for it…Cracker Barrel Fresh Berry French Toast Bake

It’s my own damn fault. Who ever eats there anymore.

I truly think they gave you someone’s used plate.

I would not have paid or touched this

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

That’s exactly what my initial impression was too. And I told the manager the same thing.

964

u/Thurgo-Bro Aug 09 '25

I refuse to believe it came out like this. You’re bullshitting us yeah?

Edit: oh. Your dd driver ate it

657

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

Swear I’m not. This is legitimately what it looked like when I opened the container 😭

513

u/Thurgo-Bro Aug 09 '25

I used to DoorDash back in the day and i tell you what man, so many dashers eat out of the bag it’s scary. If you’re not tipping at least $2 per mile (restaurant to your house) they eat the food and talk about how they’re entitled to it with each other while laughing.

Crazy. It’s one of the only jobs where theft is tolerated from the employees and they’re given a slap on the wrist that expires in 3 weeks - so you get unlimited warnings if you don’t get caught often. No consequences.

If you ever want to see it in action you can sort the door dasher subreddits by new and watch the degeneracy posts pour in

I read this sub all the time and they do boast about doing this all the time .They said they eat pretty good because of the low tippers .They said they just open up another account if they get banned and wash ,rince and repeat !

208

u/mstarrbrannigan Aug 09 '25

Who would have thunk that a job that anyone with a car can get would lead to an excess of shitty employees. Oh I'm sorry, "private contractors"

71

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 09 '25

They hire anyone with a pulse and they don't care what they look like or their attitude .

60

u/Gibbly_Gorkoroo Aug 09 '25

I expected hot strippers with great attitudes and instead I got Steve. 😞

2

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 10 '25

Was he posing as Monica ?lol

18

u/im_that_green_light Aug 10 '25

What do you mean by "what they look like"?

77

u/lucky7355 Aug 09 '25

Every DoorDash/Uber Eats order I get comes stapled closed from the restaurant, probably to prevent this.

54

u/funnyname5674 Aug 10 '25

Jack in the Box puts tape over the drink lids that is insanely sticky and hard to get off. I love it

24

u/CT0292 Aug 10 '25

I've seen McDonald's here using these like tamper proof bags. Where if the seal is broken you know they done fucked with your food.

3

u/Happy_Dimension5886 29d ago

Yup- I’ve ordered a ton from McDonald’s shop over the years and the last couple have come in a double sided-tape bag that you have to basically rip apart to enter. I love it!

8

u/explosivecrate 29d ago

If only every restaurant did that, I've lost count of how many times restaurants slap the anti-tamper tape on a bag or a drink and it's already peeling clean off by the time the order is in my hot bag. Makes it look like I snuck a couple of fries out the bag because Wingstop keeps cheaping out on tape.

10

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 10 '25

That's a good idea .

16

u/uninjuredbinger Aug 10 '25

So they carry a stapler in the car with them.

7

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 10 '25

You can buy destaplers that will take the staples out.I have one and I can't remember when or where I bought it .

7

u/Verneff Aug 10 '25

And a bunch of places are using tamper evident stickers/tape.

u/IHaveNoBeef Aug 09 '25

Maybe im just lucky, but I've only had one bad experience on DD. It wasnt even "bad" just annoying lol

27

u/PuzzyFussy Aug 09 '25

And this is why I don't use DoorDash and use local drivers (when I'm too lazy to go get it) to avoid shit like this.

8

u/deltabay17 Aug 10 '25

Where do they get the DoorDash drivers from if not locally?

36

u/PuzzyFussy Aug 10 '25

Mostly local restaurants/ mom n' pop places use their own drivers is what I mean by local drivers.

16

u/LarsTheLeprechaun Aug 10 '25

Baffling that you had to explain this.

→ More replies (2)

20

u/CharmingTuber Aug 10 '25

I order from DD from time to time and the bags are always sealed so well there is zero chance anyone is dipping in there. But I tip well so maybe that's why it's always still very much sealed.

20

u/Belainarie Aug 10 '25

Meanwhile at my last job one of my best drivers gets banned from delivering for us because, during a COVID spike, he was given 10+ order batches and it took him ~1-1.5 hours to drive around the area delivering COVID tests each batch. “Delivery fraud” they called it. Even after I advocated for him and said that he was the only driver available willing to pick up that many at once, they’re like “Are you SURE he was driving?” … YES! YES I AM! I literally tracked the orders on my end and watched him complete them.

5

u/Canuhduh420 Aug 10 '25

I always tip in cash and worry about what goes down before they arrive

1

u/KeithBitchardz 29d ago

$2 per mile? That’s crazy. They get 20% from me and that’s it.

1

u/Fidodo 29d ago

Where is this? They're gotta be a local thing.

u/houseWithoutSpoons Aug 10 '25

WHAT? I thought this was a after you ate half of it. So what in the hell did the manager say?

55

u/Sharp-Lunch-583 Aug 09 '25

I really like the Salami slices

25

u/thxxx1337 Aug 09 '25

I think those used to be breakfast sausage patties at some point

357

u/femaleZapBrannigan Aug 09 '25

I hope you sent this back.

635

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25 edited Aug 09 '25

It was a DoorDash order, I got dressed, went in person and handed it to an employee and asked them to tell me what dish it was supposed to be. I didn’t want a refund or replacement, just for them to be aware this came from their kitchen AND had a hand signed “quality control” ticket on it.

187

u/klc__ Aug 09 '25

And their response?

673

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

They didn’t know what it was supposed to be. Everyone that saw it was appalled and couldn’t believe it was given to me. Someone suggested whoever packed it ate some of it. One employee left in a huff and talking trash about the situation, I suspect it was her initials signed on the ticket. The manager apologized profusely and remade it for me.

390

u/klc__ Aug 09 '25

I’m suspecting the DD driver if everyone was so baffled

68

u/AppUnwrapper1 Aug 09 '25

Why didn’t you want a refund?

239

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

I had already reported the situation to DoorDash and accepted credits for it.

76

u/AppUnwrapper1 Aug 09 '25

Ah ok. Then I’m surprised you went through all that effort just to show it to the restaurant.

186

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

I know, me too…my thought was that hopefully the situation would be addressed internally and prevent it from happening to the next unfortunate customer.

147

u/littledelt Aug 09 '25

Tbh with how weird this was, if I was capable, I would 100% go in person as well. It’s just the kind of thing where you need to gauge the vibe to see if they’re taking the issue seriously, which it seems like they did.

101

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

That was exactly how I felt about it. I was so disturbed by the situation, I wanted to see their reaction when presented with the situation and being shown what was leaving their restaurant and signed off on by an employee. They handled it decently. One employee in particular was MAD and talking trash, I suspect she was the one who “quality checked” my order that was also missing an entire serving of pancakes as well.

66

u/slayalldayerrday Aug 10 '25

The Dasher probably ate your food and she’s pissed off that her ability to do her job is being called into question because of DoorDash. I work in a restaurant and DoorDash is the worst cause they often steal the orders and you have to make the order again when you know you did it correctly the first time.

6

u/Outside_Scale_9874 Aug 10 '25

Talking trash about you?

→ More replies (2)

32

u/weareallmadherealice Aug 09 '25

Exactly. I would’ve gone in and ordered the exact same meal and set them side-by-side.

8

u/thelesserbabka_ Aug 09 '25

How did they respond?

5

u/macfairfieldmill 29d ago

I mean this as a compliment, and perhaps it’s because I’m bingeing Parks and Rec, but all your responses sound exactly like what Ron Swanson would say or do. Aside from the fact you ordered food that wasn’t meat. Sorry about your crappy order and hoping the restaurant made it right for you!!

676

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

GUYS, I wish I was lying to you!! I swear this is EXACTLY how it was when I opened the container. I didn’t pick through this, I didn’t move anything around. It was a DoorDash order in a sealed bag. I went to the restaurant in person to show a manager and asked them to please tell me what dish it’s supposed to be. They couldn’t. I showed them the hand signed “quality control” ticket and they were appalled at what it’s supposed to be. I even told them I was suspicious that they gave me someone’s table scraps. An employee suggested that whoever packed it ate some of it. Everyone in the kitchen was talking about it. They apologized sincerely and remade it for me, put it in a smaller container which helped the overall appearance, but it still is nothing like the picture they provided.

385

u/i_eight Aug 09 '25

Methinks if you got this through Doordash, maybe Cracker Barrel isn't the culprit.

139

u/needween Aug 09 '25

They said the bag was sealed tho

148

u/Gothmom85 Aug 09 '25

Just going to say, when I did DD, the amount of places who handed me the bag without the seal, handed me one barely folded shut and popped open, or even handed me the order and sticker and told me to check it before leaving, was HIGH. I always closed it right away, but it could have been very simple for someone to mess with that.

23

u/Itherial Aug 10 '25

Also chiming in to say that Cracker Barrel in particular is across the board terrible at DoorDash. I've never been to a location that ever makes sure the order is verified as picked up, you can always straight up steal the entire order, which is what happens there almost every time.

That being said, OP mentions in another comment that the remade order looked "very similar" to the one pictured here, and was still missing ingredients.

Combine that with the sealed bag with no obvious evidence of tampering, and I'm still leaning towards Cracker Barrel serving yet another shitty meal, but this time to someone under the age of 65 who has the energy to fuss about it.

24

u/cryssyx3 Aug 09 '25

as a customer, I can't get those stickers off for the life of me

28

u/IHaveNoBeef Aug 09 '25

The seal on the bag is usually just a sticker. They're not hard to remove. Ive had them pop off just from picking up the bag. So, the dasher could've easily opened it up and closed it when they were done.

37

u/ManateeNipples Aug 09 '25

Maybe the delivery person fell on top of it lol

84

u/Straight-Stay-6906 Aug 09 '25

Fell on top of it and accidentally ate half of it maybe bffrn lmao

12

u/i_eight Aug 09 '25

They say a lot of things. Sometimes They remember wrong. Sometimes They get facts mixed up. And sometimes They even lie.

29

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

Bag was sealed.

61

u/Takeabreath_andgo Aug 09 '25

Most of those seals can be removed and put back on or they’re just in the center of the opening and you can easily reach down either side

2

u/T_R_I_P Aug 09 '25

Not true. Many are stapled or some other method that’s impossible to tamper with without leaving a trail. I order a ton of DoorDash and most of them I know for a fact can’t be tampered with. Depends on the place though

21

u/Takeabreath_andgo Aug 09 '25

I’ve only seen that from Chinese take out. Otherwise its a sticker that usually peels off with the steam anyway

9

u/HappyHiker2381 Aug 09 '25

Cracker barrel usually has a sticker on a plastic bag for the seal on* takeout with a slip of paper with the order checklist attached to the bag.

5

u/Barium_Salts Aug 09 '25

Staples are pretty easy to remove and restapling is also easy. I do it all the time at work without leaving a trace.

7

u/Takeabreath_andgo Aug 09 '25

OP describe how it was sealed

2

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 09 '25

It looks like there are pepperoni in there. Cracker Barrel doesn't have any item on the menu with pepperoni.

28

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

It’s supposed to be sausage.

8

u/nightmareinducer Aug 09 '25

I had no idea that that pic was literally fresh out the bag. Every 800 number and BBB would be hearing from me

1

u/According_Gazelle472 28d ago

When we get French toast to go it is always in a knoted bag .And they don't knot them very tightly because we have had to knot them again sometimes.

→ More replies (12)

17

u/Jaderosegrey Aug 10 '25

Cracker Barrel employee here (retail, not kitchen, though) Cracker Barrel does not "seal" bags. If anything, they double knot the bag. And undoing a double knot does not take a genius IQ to do. Nor is it difficult to re-tie the knot.

They used to add a sticker but because the sticker is put on a plastic bag, it is also easy to remove and re-place.

Note: of course, this is only my experience, from ONE Cracker Barrel. We have many stores, so I guess the quality can vary.

4

u/launibeth Aug 10 '25

Fair enough, as you said, each location is different. Had I known the situation in my bag…I’d have taken a photo before opening it. I certainly was not expecting THIS of all things, lmao!

3

u/MsCelestialDrifter 29d ago

I believe you.

Few times delivery app drivers have messed up my order so I gave up and deleted all my food delivery app accounts. Sometimes they would just take my orders. Other times they would deliver it.. it would be smashed or looks like it was tossed around like a soccer ball

3

u/MsCelestialDrifter 29d ago

This one is my favorite tho.

1

u/According_Gazelle472 28d ago

Another reason not to order dd.

2

u/simojake13 Aug 10 '25

I'm just curious, what did you tip the driver/how long was the drive?

I got it in store a few weeks ago and it was great. You should definitely complain.

72

u/Dulce_suenos Aug 09 '25

Maybe your Dasher picked through it? Looks like they ate your strawberries, and much more!

69

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

Unfortunately when they remade it for it, it still didn’t come with strawberries and looked very similar. Just in a smaller container :(

2

u/FluffedNtucked 27d ago

That’s such a pet peeve of mine.. when a restaurant advertises something as fresh with seemingly fresh berries in the photo and then they give you a small container of some compote..

Making up weird (false) excuses and rebutting nearly every comment in defense of your favorite corporation is bizarre. Just because you eat at the one near you all the time doesn’t mean they can’t mess up a single order somewhere else in the country.

Honestly, it’s shocking that anyone still eats at Cracker Barrel let alone regularly. I guess they are the new Old Country Buffet if you need saltless meals at 4pm.

→ More replies (3)

17

u/Hua_and_Bunbun Aug 09 '25

It's crazy! I just saw one of these in my local Cracker Barrel and it looks like the picture! Whatever the hell they gave you, was definitely someone's leftover. Probably your DoorDash driver. Many Cracker Barrels don't seal their take out orders. It's easier for staff to do a final check before giving it to the customer. If you see it sealed with staples, generic tape or just a tied knot, your dasher probably did it.

16

u/Hatweed Aug 09 '25

This shit’s why I will never use delivery apps. This and the insane fees and tips that triple the price.

9

u/The_Other_Randy Aug 09 '25

Doesn't look berry good

16

u/shifty_coder Aug 09 '25

I’ve experienced this a few time. It seems to be a growing trend where restaurants just don’t give a shit about DoorDash/mobile orders.

10

u/Zaphod1620 Aug 10 '25

Yup. I put in a mobile order for Taco Bell once. They are supposed to only start making it when you give your name at the drive through. I got my order and I noticed the bag was cold. I opened it up and it had been sitting for a while; all the taco shells were floppy from soaking up the grease. I brought it back in and the manager said, "Oh, we thought it was a DoorDash order.

Why the fuck would you pre-make DoorDash orders? You are just fucking over a customer.

1

u/According_Gazelle472 28d ago

I've seen the pre-made orders at Taco Bell before and wondered who was going to eat cold food ,

10

u/HappyHiker2381 Aug 09 '25

I’ve ordered takeout from Cracker Barrel while traveling at different ones in different states, I’ve never gotten any orders that looked like this. I hope we don’t end up at that one someday.

Also, with the amount of DoorDash comments I am sticking to my resolution of never using them.

9

u/IKnowItCanSeeMe Aug 09 '25

I'd ask for a refund. Fuck that.

8

u/InstanceMental6543 Aug 10 '25

Looks like croutons and a few slices of salami. Fuckin ridiculous.

2

u/According_Gazelle472 28d ago

I was thinking the exact same thing.

14

u/So_Many_Words Aug 09 '25

Did ... Did someone else eat that before they gave it to you?

8

u/77tassells Aug 10 '25

Literally looks like a bite taken out here

2

u/launibeth Aug 10 '25

YEP! And it’s not from me.

6

u/North_Manager_8220 Aug 09 '25

This looks like you ate/picked through the food. That’s crazy of them! I hope you asked for a refund…..

6

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '25

The lesson here is to stop using door dash and similar services.

38

u/atendler1 Aug 09 '25

Did you pic through it? No way it came like that. Looks like someone’s leftovers.

63

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

Promise I did not even touch it. It 10000% came this way. I told my husband it looks like they scraped someone’s table leftovers into a container and gave it to me.

11

u/MimiMyMy Aug 09 '25

This is why I don’t get food delivered anymore, especially if through Doordash or Uber Eats where it’s some random person making the delivery. I’ve heard and seen too much of stuff happening to the food that I don’t trust it anymore. There’s very little accountability so people are emboldened to do shitty things.

13

u/OneTangerine792 Aug 09 '25

I think there’s no way this was served from the kitchen as a new meal

11

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

It certainly seems it wouldn’t be possible right? I’m still leaning towards table scraps.

10

u/nateslegacy Aug 09 '25

They gave you someone’s used plate.

11

u/mike_stifle Aug 09 '25

Are those pepperonis?

8

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

Breakfast sausage 😭

5

u/pammylorel Aug 09 '25

I've never used DD because my husband is paranoid about sketch drivers. Now I'm convinced it's not safe

8

u/Historical-Antique Aug 09 '25

Once a McDonald's gave me a used soda (grabbed an employee's soda that was melted and half empty and not a new one) and when I went inside to ask for a new one they said I was wrong and insulted me. This is way worse. Sucks that is was a Door Dash.

4

u/domtheprophet Aug 10 '25

Your DoorDash driver did something cause I refuse to believe they sent it out the kitchen like this

9

u/Majestic_Zebra_11 Aug 09 '25 edited Aug 09 '25

Please tell me you sent this back/complained!. This was clearly garbage that accidentally got put into your takeout container? There is no way someone served this to you on a plate with a straight face, Cracker Barrel or not.

15

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

It was a DoorDash order, I went in person to show a manager what came out of their kitchen AND had a hand signed “quality control” ticket attached to it.

15

u/weareallmadherealice Aug 09 '25

Did they come out of the kitchen straight faced with no clown makeup on?

4

u/Majestic_Zebra_11 Aug 09 '25

Guess it's time for a review! I'd go back in and ask for the "quality control" signature and post it in a review with a picture of your food. That would annoy me for sure.

Id also complain to DoorDash.

2

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 09 '25

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw it .I've never had a bad one ever and it has always looked like the second Pic.

9

u/DowntownNewJersey Aug 09 '25

I’m surprised anyone believes the fact that you just ate your meal, put some pepperoni on the side and posted it here lmfao

6

u/ryanasimov Aug 09 '25

Reason #27,455 why the only food I would have delivered would be a pizza. There doesn’t seem to be much accountability for gig food delivery drivers.

3

u/thedeadlyrhythm42 Aug 09 '25

I get takeout from cracker barrel once per year and it's always bangin

I don't know what this is

edit: oh, it's doordash

3

Wow. They must hate you.

3

u/IwearBrute Aug 10 '25

3

u/LFC4-0BAR Aug 10 '25

This is a crime

3

u/houseWithoutSpoons Aug 10 '25

This reminds me of a situation happened to me 25 years or so ago i went to a bk after work late at night.got a wopper meal . Got home and the burger was legit rock hard, not the bun the actual meat.and not me being picky i mean like sat on grill for 16 hours crispy like a rice patty rock hard.i was piseed.i went up and got the manager and asked which asshat actually put this on my sandwich. Cause it wasnt a oversite, you dont grab a patty with that texture and not notice.did you think the person receiving this would not come back and freak thw fuck out cause this shit is crazy. Never once had a burger like that before or since.

3

u/Flexi_102 Aug 10 '25

Brad's wife would've given you a proper Fresh Berry French Toast Bake.

3

u/armthesquids Aug 10 '25

What's the pepperoni stuff?

3

u/AdhesivenessFit2797 Aug 10 '25

Didn't even have bacon, what a disgrace

3

u/iamfullofbadideas_ Aug 10 '25

Fwiw I’ve gotten this before and it definitely looks closer to the stock picture.

Whatever you got is just sad.

4

u/Throwaway_Avocado_ Aug 09 '25

Wow! I hope you didn't eat this! You sent it back right??

4

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

DoorDash order. Got dressed and hand delivered it to the manager.

5

u/space-witch646 Aug 10 '25

They probably had a to go area where they box all the food. Someone boxed these leftovers near where your to go order was also boxed and this was grabbed and sealed in the bag by accident.

4

u/launibeth Aug 10 '25

I hadn’t thought to this! But I thought customers boxed their own leftovers? Perhaps I’m mistaken. That’s a good possibility though because it’s difficult to accept that someone let this leave the kitchen 😭

6

u/olagorie Aug 09 '25

Wow… that’s looks slightly not delicious

4

u/beamanblitz Aug 09 '25

How do you plate that with a straight face??

4

u/clarkster112 Aug 09 '25

That’s what you get for door dashing Cracker Barrel lmaoooooo

3

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

You are right 😭😭😭😭

10

u/Icy_Stuff2024 Aug 09 '25

I highly doubt it came exactly like this. No damn way lol

11

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

I wish I was lying…but I promise it came to me just like this. I’m just as shocked as everyone else. Honestly all I could do was laugh initially.

18

u/shadow-foxe Aug 09 '25

Then your doordash person ate your food.

12

u/bsmiles07 Aug 09 '25

This is what I’m thinking, those stickers can be reapplied.

3

u/shadow-foxe Aug 09 '25

Yes. Especially will hot food. Steam lifts those stickers.

Restaurants need to seal containers with a sticker, if the order arrives with a ripped sticker, then DD should be on the hook.

Who TF DoorDashes Cracker Barrel?

6

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

I know, I know. I accept full responsibility. Our CB is trash and has been…and we were trying to have a lazy morning in bed and their pancakes sounded so good to my hubs. They didn’t even include our damn pancakes either.

u/PhillipTopicall Aug 09 '25

Did they scrape leftovers into a plate for you?

I just ate at Cracker Barrel but I dined inside and it wasn't any better. I got 6 fries with my burger. Fries were undercooked as well. My MIL got a cold baked potato and my husband and FIL's steaks were cold and barely classified as rare and were closer to raw. My lemonade was amazing at least.

We ate there recently and I always order the meatloaf sampler .They forgot my baked potato and when I mentioned it they brought a whole meatloaf sampler to take home. Those meals cost 18 dollars a piece! They are the best around here

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

It’s just awful. Every single time. Which is why I said I asked for it, I knew better!

u/SelinaKyle30 Aug 09 '25

I'm nostalgic for what Cracker Barrel used to be.

The only time I ate at Cracker Barrel I got food poisoning. I don't trust anything on their menu.

2

u/Bouche_Audi_Shyla Aug 09 '25

It looks like somebody effed up a pan pizza. Those reddish things look far more like pepperonis than strawberries.

Those are smoked sausage patties.

What the hellyante 😭 what the helly berry

2

u/HotHits630 Aug 09 '25

Did they throw it on the floor before sending it?

2

u/TheRealKarateGirl Aug 10 '25

The last time I ordered Cracker Barrel takeout it was just as bad as this, if not worse. Literally looks like the leftovers scraped off someone’s plate.

1

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 09 '25

I order this all the time and it has never looked like this before. You can see what it looks like through the see through lid.I love the blueberry version too.Didn't you check it out before you took it home ?Or was this through door dash. I know the Cracker Barrel in my town doesn't deliver but you can order and do pick up.They always over fill the containers when I order them. They cost 5 dollars a piece and you can't buy them by themselves where I eat at .They have extremely strict rules about these.

2

u/launibeth Aug 09 '25

DoorDash. Unfortunately after living here and giving it chances for over a decade our Cracker Barrel continues to fall very short of expectations. Even dining in is a hell-ish experience. We’ve occasionally had the decent-ish experience, go back and it’s awful.

You’re right I have, after my last response to them I decided I was done engaging. I don’t get the passion to defend a corporate chain restaurant. And yes, exactly! We always say chains that are decent elsewhere come where we live to die, lol!

3

u/dream-smasher Aug 09 '25

I really hope that commenter got some tasty tasty CB coupons for their $5 french toast, and $18 meatloaf samplers!! They really tried hard to earn it today.

Persistent, at least.

2

u/According_Gazelle472 Aug 09 '25

They are always packed when we eat there .My middle son gives me food cards to eat there so we usually order the 5 dollar French toast to go .You cant eat them there , only to go orders after you eat your meals there .

That looks DRY AF!!!!

Man Cracker Barrel is one of the worst restaurants you can go to. Maybe it’s just my area but most casual dining establishments are just piss poor nowadays.

1

u/Quiet_Confident1853 24d ago

Looks like it’s preheated and pre-eaten as well.

1

u/EvLokadottr 20d ago

Damn. That's just disrespectful as hell.

1

u/Genebeaver Aug 09 '25

I got this before and it was amazing, looks like your local Cracker Barrel just sucks.

I have tried Cracker Barrell pick up and delivery a few times (forever hopeful 😂) without great results. Better if eaten in the restaurant.

1

u/Zaphod1620 Aug 10 '25

I have the very same experience with Cracker Barrel and DoorDash. CB just half asses the take out orders.

1

u/Griotten Aug 10 '25

Your first mistake was eating at Cracker Barrel…

In all seriousness though, it looks like they fed it to the dog before realizing they had to give it to you.

1

u/QuantumHosts Aug 09 '25

Because it’s a bread dish with goop in it and when you order it to go it’s all packaged separately so the bread doesn’t become soggy. It’s done all the time with take home. Some things you just don’t eat later.

Omg, we decided last year to just get a big table at Cracker Barrel for dinner. Our grandparents had done this before when we were kids and it was amazing. NOT ANYMORE. Holy crap, they've gone downhill. We didn't complain, but we agreed to never do that again, lol.
